cotto is a JMW.not blown up at all. you have to look at his thighs..he's filled that weight up the right way.

if he was a blown up jr. middleweight what does that make mayweather? a welterweight fighting at JR. Middle?

    thats even more impressive LOL

Hard to judge whether he's any worse today than he was '09. But he damn sure ain't any better, that's for certain.

Physically, i see no difference in the Cotto of today and the one from '09. But that MIGHT be more due to his poor selection of opponents. Fighting shitty opposition can help mask how past it or shot a fighter really is. And Cotto is NOT a shot fighter, just past prime. People need to learn the difference.

Based on the eye test, i would say Cotto is about as equally past prime as Mayweather is. And the outcome of this fight is going to play out about exactly as it would've played out in '08.

If anything Pac couldn't of went down to 135 IMO. But, this is all irrelevant to the question ask.

If someone wants to say they're the same, fine. I won't argue I might not agree with it but I won't argue. However, there is no argument that can be made to say that he is better now IMO. I just can't agree with that.

I know some people will mention the 145 catchweight against Pacquiao but that was only a pound less than what Cotto weighed against Clottey and i thought Cotto looked in great shape.

Cotto at 154 has looked in good shape but i still think he would be better off at 147.

I think Floyd will be fighting the better Cotto mentally.

Pacquiao fought Cotto coming off a a very tough fight against Clottey and it was clear he hadn't got over his loss to Margarito at the time either.

Floyd will be fighting Cotto coming of a big win over a faded Margarito which will of sure erased the events of the first fight.

Cotto was forced to a CW with Manny , Cotto has said publicly when Pac recently demanded another CW to fight him again that he will not sacrifice his body like that again , he was weight drained against Pac , why the hell do you think Roach demanded 145 or NO fight , and even now Pac refuses to fight him in a rematch without another CW .

Its obvious that the 154 version is a lot more comfortable and a better fighter than a 145 drained version .

There is your answer to the topic its in the weight , Pacs version of Cotto was weight drained , Mays version of Cotto is not , and just like before Pac would not fight Cotto at his comfortable weight and he still wont ,,,

mayweather verison. i think cotto was in a funk after the margarito fight. he really lost the clottey fight and didn't look nothing like his old self. poor trainer and weight issues also affected the pac verison. cotto seems better now. i think beating margarito is a big weight off his shoulders.

                  Even.

Cotto who fought manny was closer to his prime, although he lost a bit after he got beat by margarito, but was with the wrong trainer in my mind.

Cotto who is going to fight floyd is father from his prime and got damaged more fighting manny and a hard bout with margarito......however his new trainer is great for him. I think he has refreshed cotto a bit.

                  So yeah even.

The fight vs pacquaio did not come off yet again but the resulting fights I like. Mayweather vs cotto and pacquaio vs bradley... I kinda would have rather canelo fight mayweather cause I think at this point canelo gives mayweather a harder fight. But just slightly.
                  Good fights regardless
