Osama bin Laden, Hitler, Julius Caesar, etc. etc. etc. are men of superior intellect who all did terrible things.

    DUHHHHHHH.
My friend I didn't know my 11th grade english teacher was grading my posts. As for being smarter then Victor Ortiz I never said he was dumb. Ignorant, not too bright maybe but not dumb. Well when you get winged by Oscar and then after your first beating you say you don't need to be taking this kind of punishment etc...then you get another big fight with Mayweather and blow your chances by lunging forward and trying to headbutt a sports ICON well now that is two strikes against you right. Are these actions the signs of a SMART PERSON? Oh the third strike for me was the interview post fight with Floyd....yes he is f - - king dumb....There now I decided for myself.....no go grade some papers.....LEFTY

I agree with you my friend. I like Ortiz in the ring the guy I saw in the first few rounds against Maidana and the guy who was taking it too Floyd. the guy who went beast mode on Berto yes this is the guy I like too see. Not the lunging head butt freak who needs to think a little more before he speaks.....LEFTY

Not much to be made of him.Everybody kidna knows what to get from.

He's not the brightest guy in boxing to put it in a nice way but I don't really care about that.

He's a good entertaining fighter but his mental state is all over the place.

Judah is the biggest waste of talent in the history of the sport.

Ortiz works hard, I just don't think his mind is in it. His number 1 goal isn't boxing, it's to be on some beach somewhere. He reminds me of Ricky Williams in his mentality.
He's very much like Judah in that he is so talented that people are going to jump on every glimpse of potential he shows and overrate Ortiz. You can see it already, much the same way fans have always said "if Judah's mentally right he will win" against anyone, they say that now with Ortiz. "If the Ortiz from the Berto fight shows up..."

NEWSFLASH: There is no difference between the Ortiz that beat Berto and the Ortiz that lost to Maidana and Mayweather are no different. The only difference was the opponent, not Ortiz. Yet people will, for the rest of Ortiz's career, say "if Ortiz's head is right, if the Ortiz from the Berto fight shows up," no matter who he fights.

Watch, if he gets a Mayweather rematch there will be a vocal minority that says, "He wont' be intimidated this time, he will be young and strong and the guy from the Berto fight will show up this time."

I think Ortiz is an incredibly physically gifted kid but I don't think boxing is #1 in his life. I think he's a nice guy and "Vicious" is the wrong nickname for him. He should be nicknamed "nice guy" or something like that.

I think he would much rather be surfing on some beach with his friends instead of in a boxing ring but that's just my opinion.

I like the kid, think he came up in a tough family life and is using boxing to make ends meet.
This is a very good assessment I think, really good post. And although I'm not really a fan of Ortiz but he did have a rough life I'll give him that.

Okay that is enough about his character & smarts or maybe lack there of smarts.

Now that the fight I was drooling too see is not going to happen next week what match ups do you see as a good possibility for Ortiz in the very near future?

The fight I would like to see is Ortiz vs Khan. Neither are the brightest boxers in the world so it could be billed as

DUMB Vs DUMBER battle of the Thickoes

The pre fight build up would be great with both of them out doing eachother with ****** comments. My only concern is that the whole event could be screwed up by mystery men, corrupt judges and a dodgy ref.
