I think Zivic was the roughest, toughest SOB that ever stepped in the ring.

My vote goes to Marcianno. I cant think of another man on this planet that could have fought for a couple rounds after their nose split in half.

Ali also deserves being mentioned for taking Foremans best shots and fighting Norton with a broken jaw.

        Holyfield toughtest ever?

Of all the fighters I've had the pleasure to see in my life, I would put Real Deal at the top of my list of toughtest fighters. He has a heart that may be too big for even himself and remembering all the times he's showed his will, determination and courage in the ring makes me feel good inside. Bowe, Qwai, Bowe, Tyson, Lewis I & II, Rahman, the list goes on. No boxer that I have seen hasw fought with the edge that Evander has, so yes he is the toughtest fighter in my book.

I definitely agree with El Duderino, It must be Hagler. Taking all the best shots from his opponent and still winning. Hagler is really one tough guy.

How can one say one fighter is the 'toughest ever' . . .seems like a pretty ridiculous claim. Boxing requires toughness in itself, and through history there have been tons of just inhumanely tough and rugged fighters. Holyfield is one of many . . .

                how bout it..?
See, this **** is so unnecessary and one of the reasons youre so highly regarded here (when youre not banned anyway). The thread is to give the man his due respect; not insult him for refusing to retire. That crap was on a different thread entirely! Sometimes the saying "if you have nothing good to say, then say nothing at all" really applies; this was one of those times.

Holyfield did have an amazing chin, but I think his heart and determination played a big part of it too! He was usually the smaller of the two when it came to heavy wt. fights, and he was always so damn tough and took blow after blow and remained on his feet. Undying love and respect for the man, the fighter, the warrior!

I have been trying to find that picture showing the damage to Rocky's nose. How in the world cam anyone look at that and imagine that it is a shot of the WINNER?!
                  One tough sonofabitch!

Holyfield is a very tough guy. Other tough fighters are Hagler, Marciano, Mayorga and, maybe the toughest of, Ali !
