Canelo should not have a title if he isn't ready for the best..
Ask your self this....are guys like Canelo and Chavez Jr. being matched like champs or are they being matched like prospects?
I'm not here to justify it or say its right, but just to point out there everything about them and the fights they take should tell you where they are in their development as fighters.

That doesn't mean the fighter themself believes that, someone constantly told they are the next big thing will begin to really believe that at some point.
Him being the most obvious potential star GBP has, they do have to keep him happy, even if that means him trying to put on britches that are much to big for him at this time.
GBP might be cashing in some favor chips with Floyd and since there is nothing else out there that is overly appealing it might be easier to get him on board.

Well that's certainly one of the many things that are wrong in boxing. Every prospect that's able to attract a fan base gets a paper title and is promoted as the next big thing in boxing. Then, if everything goes well according to their promoters, they keep fighting crappy opposition and keep getting money. Some of them fight good boxers at some moments of their careers, and then just build a bubble to live in like Sturm in Germany or Chris John in Indonesia.

There isn't many other options. I don't want Floyd to fight Martinez at 150, he would be too drained down there. 154 would be a dream match, but a HUGE risk for a guy who has only fought at 154 once, and weighed 150 @ the official weigh in. Alot of you guys miss the point of boxing. If these old guys like Manny (good that it looks like he will fight Bradley) and Floyd don't give these young fighters the chance, how will they ever prove themselves??? Besides Floyd is getting at that age where even the elite like himself start to get caught with big shots, and we know Canelo can ****.

It's a shame Ortiz is a moron, because it was actually a very entertaining fight until he got KO'd. Would have been sweet to watch Floyd systematically dismantle him and get the TKO in rd 9 or 10.
