Lol.... Everybody was ****tin on a cotto fight. Now y'all say you would rather cotto.. GTFOH
Given his other choice which seems to be Canelo, yes Cotto would be a better choice. He has the experience and resume under him to justify a fight with Floyd. Who's the best Canelo has faced? Cintron? Gomez? LOL. Or Baldomir?
I'm not sure if it's true but Floyd's in a real pickle in terms of who he fights next since it won't be Pacquiao. Mayweather has a duel task here, his haters have to think the fight is plausible and he has to generate revenue. Contrary to what some think there are a lot of politics that go on behind the scenes before fights are even remotely considered possible to happen and all of the interests want to make money.
Floyd's hands are tied as to who he can fight because at the end of the day he has to work harder than anyone else out there to prove his greatness while others have it imparted without the same amount of thought or effort. Floyd has to be perfect and his opponents have to have a legitimate chance to beat him. With the bar being set so high I don't see how Floyd can please his fans if he fights anyone other than Pacquiao or God, and Pacquiao will be fine fighting whomever he wants.
I think everyone besides Kev who was Shittin on the Cotto fight. Was saying "well it's at least better than a Canelo fight"
I wasn't ****tiing on it, but if I had a choice between Canelo and Cotto.. .I'd pick Cotto. Actually Cotto is the best possible for Floyd. meh for Pac since he already beat him.

Such is the world of the double standard....
GTFO with that limp ass floyd defense. Bar set so high? Who set that bar? Oh yea the guy who claims to be the greatest boxer of all time while his best win is diego corrales.
lmfaaoo at setting the bar high. What happened to that bar when it was time for him to face at that time the most loaded and best division in boxing after beating career 140 pounder ricky hatton? He retired.
Leaving a welterweight division with a prime cotto, prime margarito, prime paul williams, younger shane and a host of other credible 147 pounders like clottey, collazo, cintron, and berto.
again, lmfaooo at perfect opponent. Just like a career 130 pound and under marquez was a perfect opponent against a undefeated welterweight? When was the last time floyd picked a perfect opponent? He ducked the loaded welter weight division then when it was time to fight his best opponent to date, he made fight negotiations hell.
When you say perfect opponent, i guess you mean perfect opponent for floyd to NOT CHALLENGE his purported Greatest of All Time skills.
lol you guys complain about floyd fighting older guys
or smaller guys
and then he fights a young, huge, hard punching 21 year old and you complain about it?
canelo and floyd will be terrific theatre
just think about the fight, brothers. think about how it's going to look
canelo's going to be throwing combinations
he's much bigger than floyd
he's never lost before. he's got a good chin.
he's easy to hit. he's a bit of a hot head in the ring who is more than willing to mix it up
and the kid is a PUNCHER
i dont think he's going to win by any stretch, but i like his chances a hell of a lot more than i liked victor ortiz'
he's so much more technical than ortiz. canelo doesnt have terrific feet but ortiz footwork is flat out awful
he cant get out of the way of a right hand and they knock him off balance.
and canelo's combinations are crisp. if he gets hit on the chin it's tucked and he stays balanced.
i think he's a much better boxer than ortiz, and a lot better than the credit people give him.
floyd via decision in a very one sided and equally entertaining fight
canelo is a young and strong and hard punching kid
that's going to bring the best out of mayweather
the only guy to bring a better pure action fight with floyd would be kirkland
he's a complete monster with more flaws than canelo
