its a huge ass check and life goes on after a loss, aswell as exposure, etc. If i was him, id take a beating for a huge paycheck.
Because of the biggest paycheck he will probably ever see, he wont regret getting the loss. If he passed on maweather because of his record, when he did finally get a loss, he'd kick the **** out of himself.Comment

did i say they were prime? did i say victor beat maidana? No. My point is ortiz faced better competition in comparison to canelo. Everything i posted is relevant to the discussion when you take everything into account.Who's the better fighter right now? I don't honestly know.
Who has the better resume? Ortiz, sure he got Berto. The point is I wouldn't mention a shot to pieces Vivian Harris, nor Nate Campbell. Because, by the time Ortiz fought them. They weren't better than Canelo opponents. I also wouldn't have mentioned an opponent that Ortiz quit in. It's bad enough to get credit when you lose, but to get credit when you F'ing quit?
But, because of the Berto win. I would say Ortiz has the better resume. Not sure who the better fighter is though.
Ortiz compared to Canelo has faced better opposition & is more seasoned fighter and IMO a better fighter than canelo right now. Ortiz has put the work in. He is paying his dues.
Wtf has canelo done in comparison to ortiz?Comment

You just throwing names out there though man. More importantly than who is when....If their shot to pieces then they're not better competition.did i say they were prime? did i say victor beat maidana? No. My point is ortiz faced better competition in comparison to canelo. Everything i posted is relevant to the discussion when you take everything into account.

Wtf has canelo done in comparison to ortiz?
Why would those versions of Harris and Nate be better competition? Because, of what they did in their prime?
And, facing better competition but quitting midway out says a lot about that fighter.Comment

I worship the invisible God, I don't worship Mayweather so I absolutely think he can be beaten. At one time, Tyson was considered invincible. I swim against the tide because I would love this fight. and I think Canelo has more than a little bit of a chance to prevail. But it is still in the talk phase, so it is premature to get excited or depressed, as the case may be, about a future fight.Comment

Sure Ortiz has a better resume, but do you honestly think hes a bigger threat than canelo? Hate the kid all you want but he can take a punch and put together a nasty combo. Top rank wont do business with Floyd.. who is a bigger threat @ gbp that can sell a ppv?i disagree. I think victor ortiz is the better fighter out of the two right now. At least ortiz has been in the ring with guys like nate campbell, vivian harris, marcos maidana, lamont peterson and andre berto.
whose the best fighter canelo has faced?
kermit cintron?
not even close.Comment

Dude, your post is chucked full of ******ation, but hey that's what we get here at the Scene, ******s that refuse to think critically or even exercise the slightest bit of logic if it somehow exonerates Floyd Mayweather.GTFO with that limp ass floyd defense. Bar set so high? Who set that bar? Oh yea the guy who claims to be the greatest boxer of all time while his best win is diego corrales.
lmfaaoo at setting the bar high. What happened to that bar when it was time for him to face at that time the most loaded and best division in boxing after beating career 140 pounder ricky hatton? He retired.
Leaving a welterweight division with a prime cotto, prime margarito, prime paul williams, younger shane and a host of other credible 147 pounders like clottey, collazo, cintron, and berto.
again, lmfaooo at perfect opponent. Just like a career 130 pound and under marquez was a perfect opponent against a undefeated welterweight? When was the last time floyd picked a perfect opponent? He ducked the loaded welter weight division then when it was time to fight his best opponent to date, he made fight negotiations hell.
When you say perfect opponent, i guess you mean perfect opponent for floyd to NOT CHALLENGE his purported Greatest of All Time skills.
psst please.
GTFO with that bull****.
Again, you miss the point that most of the fighters you just listed that Floyd “left” are Top Rank fighters and thus outside of his realm to make a fight happen with. As to the rest you're delusional if you think they would have stood a chance against Mayweather guy, is your hate that strong? C'mon, a "prime Mosley" avoided Floyd for years and the result in their match up showed why. You use the word prime as if that means something, it doesn’t mean jack if you can be outboxed, outthought, and outmaneuvered. Being in your prime means nothing if you’re easy to hit.
Again, back to my sane post, Floyd has to choose what he has available and revenue has to be a big concern. He supports an entire business, if he didn't use his head a lot people wouldn't be getting paid, especially him.
Floyd sets the bar high for himself, but he doesn't need to because the "fans" do it for him after each superb performance. To read what some think it's impossible for Mayweather to do anything right even though he consistently puts on flawless performances. Some folks will never get it, no matter how many clueless posts they pollute this site with....Comment
