It's not a good fight for Canelo. Hes not ready. He can make a lot of money against lesser threats in JCC jr or Cotto. Hell even grandpa mosley.
Hopkins tends to take on guys around his own size, Canelo is a big lad and Mayweather isn't, he's a smaller fighter, this isn't a 140lber like Hatton we're talking about.

Alvarez will lose but I don't see this fight taking much out of him resistance wise, I think he will be like De La Hoya after the fight, well beaten on points but not hurt.

weak move. further proof he never wanted to fight pac or cotto on that date because he just did a arum move to keep it in house and fight a mexican. canelo is not ready for a fight like this, and fraud floyd is cherry picking the easiest fight before he hits the pokey.

Serious?...I mean Canelo is just an avg fighter..he will lose eventually so why not get the money and lose to the best now? This is prize fighting...you fight for your biggest possible prize at the time....

So there is no point in waiting because he will never be ready at this rate, so the only way he can get better is to see a guy like Floyd.

It could destroy him, or it could get him back on the road to improvement. It would be down to Canelo at that point.
I think that's just false man. Canelo at 21 or 22, whatever, is a good fighter who takes care of his opponents the way he's supposed to. Gomez, Cintron were outmatched? Okay, Canelo stopped them both mid way like he's supposed to. Actually I thought the Cintron fight would last 12 but Canelo proved me wrong. Rhodes his toughest opponent to date, rated #4 at the time, Canelo boxed beautifully and won a shut out.

He's a good fighter. Obviously not great at this point of his career, but he'll get better.

39 wins at a young age. I don't think he can be called green when he has almost as many fights as Floyd has at the age of 35.
Canelo struggled with Alfonso Gomez. I like Canelo but feel he needs another year or 2 before facing someone like Floyd.

Do you know Canelo's habits first hand? You have no clue if he will get better or if he is at his peak.

That is speculation on my part sure, but the part about it taking a special breed to keep improving after you make it is not and GBP is closer to the situation so maybe they see that~ it is odd to me they would throw Canelo in with Floyd unless they felt something like that.

Canelo is a good young fighter who has talent sure, but if he has the disease of Me he won't be getting better.

I hope you guys see what's happening here.

Floyd picks a very green BUT HYPED UP and UNDEFEATED fighter in order to pump up his resume by saying he beat another undefeated fighter.

Other than the fact that canelo is mexican and has a huge fanbase, why would GBP risk their biggest blue chip prospect?

Kid is only 21 years old and hasnt even faced a gate keeper fight and now he's fighting floyd? I guess i shouldnt be surprised because GBP has NEVER EVER developed a young fighter into a great fighter into a superstar fighter. That's what happens when you put a former taco vendor as your match maker along with floyd's b*tchedassness.

                      I didn't.
I'm just laughing so hard at some of the people justifying this.
Oh, well if Pac won't fight him then I guess it's alright.
Canelo's probably the cheapest option that would maximize his profits. Cotto too expensive and Guerrero wouldn't yield as much money.
Who's his next opponent... Frankie Gomez?
