I agree that Mayweather should've fought Cotto early 2008 instead of trying to rematch DLH. Who I think the winner of the fight is, is irrelevent. The fight should've happened.

I don't feel the Marg fight should've happened in 06 because there were so many options at the time. But in 08, the smoke at 147 cleared and Cotto and Mayweather were the last one's standing.

But let's be consistent here. I can admit when I felt Floyd has done wrong.

But the only reason Cotto fought Margarito was because there were no other fights. Since Floyd retired, the only fight left for Cotto was Margarito.

Margarito lost to Williams but kind of fought his way back up with a few wins.

Floyd was going to retire post Hatton for at least a year regardless if you watched the Hatton 24/7 you would see Floyd was dealing with injuries and he said his body was breaking down, what I'm saying is if Cotto kept winning then Floyd would've fought him or at least try to work with Top rank

No Floyd turned down the DLH rematch it would have taken lots of Money to keep him active but he was going to take a break regardless

Mayweather-DLH were looking at fighting in September 2008; Mayweather was also in talks with Dana White and Mark Cuban to do MMA if he quit boxing.

Wlad and Mayweather Sr begged Mayweather Jr not to do MMA.

He couldn't be too injured or tired of fighting if all this was being considered.
