    Catchweight Biases Against Pacquiao

I do not understand why if it's Pacquiao demanding catchweights people seem to ridicule him but clearly he's not the only one doing it.

Floyd's asking Martinez to drop to 150.
Cotto Asking Martinez to drop to 154.
Martinez asking Ward to drop to 164.

    Why oh why?

Floyd's 150 on Sergio and Marintez 164 on Ward are catch weight. Cotto fighting Sergio at 154 is no cw. Its the limit of of jr. mw. And didn't Sergio said his willing to fight at 154.

Well canelo had like 4 or 5 catchweight fights in a row already..one of them being his world title fight. Gbp even offered to have chavez jr vs canelo at a catchweight too. Pacquiao has really only fought 3 catchweight fights in his entire 50+ fight pro career..

Because pacquiao boasts about titles he wins at catchweights. Does it make sense to defend a 154 lb title at 150?

Oscar/Pac was Manny moving up two weight divisions, I give no crap for this fight.

Pac/Cotto was Manny's first catchweight so I had no problems with it. BUT Manny try to *** Cotto down to 142 initially and it was for a title so it cheapens the win to me.

Pac/Marg at 150 **** Margarito its that simple, don't load your wraps and people can't take advantage of you its that simple. BUT it was for a title so again cheapens the win.

Pac/Marquez it was at 144 where Floyd was supposed to fight him, so again I could care less. BUT it was for a title so... you get the idea.

Most of them don't seem so bad, but jesus Manny that's a lot of catchweight fights and he's asking for another one!? This time making Cotto lose 7 pounds and he already beat the guy? The reason he gets **** is because with that many fights its now a trend, doing it a couple of times to make fights happen fine. But using them to get an advantage, that's straight up b*tch **** period. The divisions are there for a reason, it's not where Manny wants to fight just like Mayweather, Manny IS NOT bigger than the sport. Maybe he isn't trying to drain people but it looks that way, and it's not like Cotto is the one asking for the fight. Manny said I want Cotto but... only at 147, as if Cotto is in the same position as the last time? He's not with TR anymore, he actually has some options as he's showing, he'll just fight Floyd at 154. Even if Cotto loses Floyd's win >>> than Manny's just because it wasn't a CW for a title fight, that wasn't there to cheapen the win.

Well technically there's no such thing as a 154lb title. 154 is only the limit you can weight in that respected division which can be in between 148 - 154. People tend to forget that on fight night Marg weighed 163lbs. Pac fought a full fledge MW in that ring.
