But, hopefully he does stay true to this. No need for this fight.
he isnt making excuses...if anything pac is because he agreed to fight clottey and mosley at 147 and margarito at 150 so margarito couldnt use the excuse of being drained seeing as tony attributed his loss against mosley to being weight drained

cotto >150 will have more stamina, power not to mention he has a good trainer rather than one of his best friends who couldnt give him any advise when faced with adversity he didnt anticipate on. from the 5th round on cotto was in survival mode and his punches didnt have anything behind them

not saying cotto will beat pac >150 but he will look much better. hell...he did better against pac than any welterweight did, he busted his eardrum with the little punches he landed

For the rematch, which has a tentative date of June 9th in Las Vegas, Pacquiao refuses to fight Cotto above 147. This time around, Cotto will not give in. Pacquiao has to fight him at comfortable weight limit.

            Go back and read it?

Now is Cotto insinuating that he had trouble making weight or making excuses on the loss by saying "I will not sacrifice my body again..."?

            Thanks.
Maybe he did have trouble making weight. How exactly is that an excuse? Stating facts doesn't mean excuse. He isn't saying that is why he lost.

In the press conference he also said that "money talks", that he'll take the fight that will earn him more money.

While I can't say for sure, I don't know if the weight affected Cotto that much when he and Pacquiao fought last--or was a big part of the outcome. He probably struggled a bit to make it but let's not get carried away here. I do think, however, now that he's been fighting above 150 consistently now, he would really be hurting himself to go below 150. But reading his last line in that article...hey, money talks.

"I will not sacrifice my body again............", was what he said. "For another fighters benifit". Sounds to me like he was saying he won't be giving Pacman the advantage of having him come back down to welterweight for the rematch.

What does posters saying he was weight drained have to do with what Cotto himself said? He didn't say he was drained. However if Cotto returns to 147 to fight Pacman, which fighter does that benifit?
