You may be right. It's really hard to say what Cotto has left. It was nice to see glimpses of the fighter I once admired but...how much did Margarito have left? IDK. I will say this...it'll be hard to push Cotto around. Margarito looked like a damn LHW in there against Miguel.

I don't think Margarito looked any worse than he has before to be honest. People don't realize but in the first fight Cotto was retreating to the ropes from the 2nd round on. He avoided the ropes like the plague in this fight and that was the main difference, it had less to do with Tony and more to do with Cotto's gameplan IMO.

Still, no chance against Mayweather. If he does get the fight, I would toy with going southpaw in camp a lot though. He won't land one left hook on Floyd out of his stance. I got a lot of faith in his trainer, he seems to pay a lot of attention to detail. I just want to see Cotto clip like 4 rounds and give a decent account for himself...he'd stay viable if he lost in a similar way to how Oscar lost against Floyd. And I think it's somewhat possible.....would have been more likely in 2007/2008.

I think I've seen a slow but steady decline in Tony dating back to a few years ago. He looked much slower to me against Cotto then he did against Clottey. And when he fought Garcia (right before Pac) he looked awful. Maybe rust but wtf, he took a year off before fighting Clottey too. And I TOTALLY agree with you - Cotto's game plan made a huge difference. Agree on Mayweather-Cotto as well.

Cotto is a good win for Floyd, IMO a better win than Mosley being Cotto isn't coming off a 16 month lay off and is much more experienced than Victor Ortiz. Sure, we can find reasons why the fight shouldn't happen or is long over due, but I think people from jump are just finding reasons to discredit the fight. But as soon as the fight comes to fruition, the chants of "Cotto is done" from Mayweather fans turns into "Cotto is coming off a win and has only 1 legit loss". The same goes for Pac fans if Cotto fights him. The truth of it all is both guys are out of fighters to pick from with Cotto really being the one big name not named Pacquiao that Floyd has never faced. If they can make a PPV out of Mayweather vs Ortiz, I have no doubt they can actually do really well with Mayweather vs Cotto.

No way. At 150, it falls back down to a C+ fight. Floyd, if he fights Cotto, should do it at 154. It's a B+ fight then.

It will be mad funny if Mayweather-Cotto is announced, because than Pac is left with Peterson, Marquez, or Bradley. And I don't think Manny wants to fight Bradley right now, because Tim could really possibly beat him. Besides Floyd, Cotto at 154 or Bradley are the best options for Pac. He doesn't want to fight Cotto above 147, seems completely uninterested in fighting Bradley.

If there is no Mayweather-Pacquiao, they better make it for November or December, and I want to see Mayweather-Cotto at 154/Pacquiao-Bradley at 144-147.

I agree with you, if Bradley can avoid Manny's left hand like Marquez did, he can possibly beat him by decision.

I mean, the Manny I saw against Marquez can lose to Bradley.
But I think Manny overlooked Marquez and thought he would beat him without a great effort, he was wrong...

If I was Manny I would fight Bradley, cuz it would be a real test to see what he has left, he needs to challenge himself...

He has nothing to lose against Bradley, Manny is at the end of his career, Bradley is a young and good fighter, nothing to lose except the 100 millions dollars fight wich is a lot, but if Bradley beat Manny, it def means Floyd would have outboxed him to a late stoppage AND I don't know if Manny wants it at this point, even for the biggest check.
