Just because he back peddled against Shane doesnt mean he would have against Floyd. Floyd is a softy and Cotto back then would have been a big problem for Floyd.

Shane lost to Cotto because he tried to outbox Cotto in the first half but Cotto was fresher. Cotto could never beat Floyd. Cotto's jab would have been an issue for like 4 rounds and then later in the fight as Cotto got weaker and Floyd got stronger. Cotto would have gotten thrashed in my opinion. whenever Cotto went up against anyone who was able to take his power away from him he either edged by or got beat. Cotto's been rocked, wobbled or stunned in almost every big fight he was in. Floyd was/is too accurate for Cotto AND Floyd adjusts on spot. Cotto has problems from a technical standpoint and gets discouraged and can't adjust.

I agree that Floyd would win but not as easy as you make it out. Ortiz is overly aggressive and has no defense also cannot fight going backwards. Cotto on the other hand fights well going forward or backing up and has better defense.

Cotto is not a technical fighter at all because if that was the case then he would have been able to adjust and beat Margarito in the first fight (plaster or not) Cotto has always relied on his pressure and took numerous punches to the chin and dome. Cotto earned my respect because of his attitude but I have been watching him fight since 140 and he has always made the same mistakes. If he can't hurt a fighter he is in panic mode. I'm happy that he beat Margarito in the rematch but Cotto should have whupped his ass in the first fight. Cotto could not even land his signature body punch on Margarito because Cotto can't adjust under pressure or adversity. I think you on super debate mode because I already said TWICE that I believe Floyd would beat him.
Your the one who questions his boxing skill yet say he outboxed Shane (which is no easy task)....and now you throw in that he cant handle adversity Yet Cotto has been dropped numerous time and has got up to win.....I WOULD SAY THAT IS HANDLING ADVERSITY AND HE OBVIOUSLY ADJUSTED ENOUGH TO WIN.

Having only a loss to Manny Pacquiao and an avenged loss to Cheato makes him a good fighter that is no push over to ANY fighter.
