You guys are too into these fighters personally. Barker was shelled up for the whole fight until Martinez figured him out and KO'd him. Cotto doesn't have tight defense like that. Lets put it like this.... If Cotto EVER gets in the ring with Martinez, you come see me and we bet 20MIL. I guarantee that Cotto gets KO'd in the 7th if not earlier. Dude is too wide open to eat a big shot from Martinez and stay up. I'm talking styles and some of you on here are talking names and who likes which fighter more.

There is a difference in being counter punched and bad defense. Cotto is known for fighting with his gloves in his face (almost peek a boo), He even shoulder rolls. If anything he can be counter punched like Pac did to him, but bad defense and cant fight going backwards ? Im sorry but it makes you sound like you dont know the fighter....You know we are taking about Miguel Cotto and not his brother....right? You sound like your describing Miguels Brother.

I think you on super debate mode because I already said TWICE that I believe Floyd would beat him.
Your the one who questions his boxing skill yet say he outboxed Shane (which is no easy task)....and now you throw in that he cant handle adversity Yet Cotto has been dropped numerous time and has got up to win.....I WOULD SAY THAT IS HANDLING ADVERSITY AND HE OBVIOUSLY ADJUSTED ENOUGH TO WIN.

Having only a loss to Manny Pacquiao and an avenged loss to Cheato makes him a good fighter that is no push over to ANY fighter.

Shane had problems with technical fighters too (Forrest 2x, Wright 2x, Mayweather) Shane approached Cotto with the wrong game plan. If Shane would have came out the the way he ended then that would have been Cotto's first loss. Cotto's not a push over but he is not in Mayweather or Martinez league technical wise. You know who is though "Juan Manuel Marquez". Cotto boxes but gives up when his punch is not effective and Pac proved that. In order to beat guys like Mayweather and Martinez, you have to out think them to win and be mentally strong. Cotto can't trump them in that department. Takes more than a punch and lil pressure to beat durable technical fighters. Cotto ****** his way out of situations early in his career but later it got more difficult.

Fam, in the first Margarito fight Cotto did not fight well going backwards and that's why he always found himself laying on the ropes. Fighting backwards effectively is when you know the ring and how to get off of the ropes back into the center of the ring. Cotto hit Margarito and moved away. That's why Margarito was jogging up to him. Cotto was on the run in that fight. He did the same thing first in the 2nd half of Mosley but not that extensive as Margarito 1. A fighter who can fight backwards don't allow pressure to disrupt him. He adjusts. Don't know the fighter? I used to get hated on by Cotto fans back in 08 but was dead right about him. I called the Margarito fight right after they fought Gomez/Cintron 2. I knew Margaito would be too much for Cotto because of the style (Didn't know about any plaster back then)

Cotto has boxing skill. That skill has saved his ass on more than one occasion, for someone to say he doesnt have it or cant fight backwards is absurd.

Because of his boxing skill he has many chance against many fighters.

This guy makes him out to be a fighter who has one all his fights on luck.
