Byrd at no time in the fight was hurt, or even slightly bothered by anything Vitali landed.

Vitaly is heavy handed, but he's not the puncher his supporters or ko percentage make him out to be. I've thought of making a thread specifically about him and Ibeabuchi, but it would be derided as a hate thread no matter how much sense it made.

Chris Byrd was better, P4P, than Vitali.

About a year before Holyfield fought Cris Byrd...he said he didn't want to fight Byrd because he was a guy who could make you look bad...which is what happened when they did fight. He was a slippery blown up middleweight who only made touch contact with his punches and had much more talent than he was ever given credit for.

I always have liked Byrd, great feints and footwork. But he was overmatched against Klitschko. Klitschko usually forced himm to retreat to the ropes and caught him quite a few times, although Byrd's elusive body movement made him miss a bit. Byrd was not disgraced, but Klitschko was winning wach round by a big margin.

Anybody who thinks Vitaly would have beaten Ali just needs to watch this fight. Byrd is was smaller, slower and softer punching fighter than Ali was.
This fight shouldn't be considered when discussing a Vitali-Ali fantasy fight. Byrd and Ali fight NOTHING alike.

Is this a serious thread? The fight wasn't even very competitive Byrd lost almost every round.
