  • Why???

Why not fight on May 5th if the arena is already booked for a fight? And who said that Floyd was ordered by the judge to fight on that date? I always took it as Floyd was contractually obligated for that date by the MGM, not the court. I don't think it's that easy to book an entire arena with the idea of making a huge fight and then tell them, "Not only are we not going to fight on that date, we are not going to fight in your arena at all because we are going to fight in a outdoor arena down the street from your property".

So just think about that for a second, without saying anyone is scared and trying to make excuses. I'm sure that everyone involve are relatively smart business people and fighting on the biggest weekend for boxing would be a great move. Look, Floyd has been living in Las Vegas for some years now and understands what needs to be done to promote the fight there. If you look at his following, he has fought several times during the Cinco De Mayo weekend.

Me and my wife have talked about going to Las Vegas, not to see the fight (because it will probably be either too expensive or sold out), but to be in the atmosphere when the fight do happen. A couple years ago, when the LA Lakers were playing the Orlando Magics in the NBA Finals, my wife and I had a planned vacation in Orlando to go to Disney World, Universal Studios and some other smaller attractions, but one of the most exciting things about being there during that time is that we were there when Orlando won that one game. It was a major party everywhere and it was just so much fun. Trust, it will be the same in Las Vegas during the Cinco De Mayo weekend, but 10 times bigger.

I hope Pac will be able to stand up to Bob and demand that they fight on May 5th. I also hope that Pac and Floyd do not fight another opponent and lose before they can fight each other. Floyd has fought a dangerous opponent in Ortiz and although Floyd was winning decisively (IMO) up to that point, Ortiz still had a punchers chance and he is a young fighter, so stamina probably wasn't going to be an issue for him in the later rounds. In regards to Pac, he fought a dangerous opponent in JMM and IMO I thought Pac lost a close fight. Floyd may fight Martinez to prove that he is not ducking anyone because he has already stated that he is not looking to fight Canelo, Ghost or Cotto. I think the only other name out there since Khan lost his last fight is Paul Williams, but he lost to Martinez and plus Paul would not be a big attraction for a May 5th fight. Pac will probably fight T. Bradley which is dangerous because he will match Pac in punches and aggressiveness. If Pac or Floyd loses, the Dream Fight is over.

Also, why would Floyd want to fight a couple days before he goes to jail? Wouldn't you want enough time to heal from a fight like that? I would hate to go to jail with severe cuts, bruises and a black eye, assuming Pac really give it to Floyd. If Pac dominates Floyd on May 5th, at least Floyd can be relatively healed by the time he has to do his time.

I would like to see Floyd and Pac on May 5th with a co-feature of Canelo vs. (Chavez Jr., Cotto or El Perro Angulo). What do you all think?

      • This about one mans ego , Arum just can't do may 5 because Floyd chose it.

An extra $50 million now ? That would mean tickets not in the closest 16000 would be $2500 each. Why don't these reporters query these numbers?

Only hope is PAC demands MAy 5 or Floyd agrees to move.

What is weird is the date us the only issue and they don't address it.

        • Let's all wait until November for Arum to find some other excuse.

          • Why not do the fight on May 26??? I forgot *****s think Floyd is GOD and Manny and Arum should move mountains to do everything possible to accomendate Floyd because he beat his BM, plead guilty and admited beating her and has to go to jail... Maybe if Floyd didn't like to beat women he wouldn't be in this position... A perfect example of how being an A$$hole and women beater could come back to bite you... This dude has issues he wants to cry like a baby and beat on women because his BM wouldn't bend to his will. Now he wants to have Twitter Wars and talk **** because Arum and Pac won't bend to his will... What a Bitc$!!!! How many Tweets did he make the past 2 years to fight Pac??? Now he wants HIS way and he is tweeting and crying all over the place.... He should be worried about fighting the dude standing behind him when he drops the soap....

            • Arum: Mayweather has to call us he knows our number to get the fight done because we are ready and set to go

Arum: Mayweather called Manny but he has to let go off that May 5 date.

              Classic

Ellerbe's concern is the same, what if they do late May and the stadium doesnt get finished and then Floyd has to go to jail without a fight.

If i'm not mistaken, and fellow posters feel free to correct me here, but this place right here----->http://www.mgmgrand.com/entertainmen...den-arena.aspx, has been the home of championship boxing at this level for a very very long time. So why the need for a cardboard stadium constructed in a dust bowl, with portaloos?

Could it be just another excuse, in a list of excuses that is so vast and ******, that we all can't keep up with the steaming piles of turd that fall out of Arum's, Koncz's, Freddie's and Manny's mouth everytime they "make a statement"?

If i'm not mistaken, and fellow posters feel free to correct me here, but hasn't the NSAC be in charge of the drug testing policies for championship boxing at this level in Vegas for a very very long time. So why the need for a change??? *****s make it so easy to stomp them with their own words and logic. LOL
