Pacquiao just set two new records.....

1.) the most absurd collection of ridiculous excuses since..... well, since Manny's absurd collection of ridiculous random blood test excuses back in 2009

2.) having the most gullible fanboys in boxing history

Pac-fan's = shameless, and the worst sporting fans EVER !!

      Duh

Did Ellerbe really need to come out and say this?
I'm glad he finally came out and called Arum out on this, but it just seems sad that he had to do this.
A temporary stadium adding another 30,000 people to the stadium would not add 60 million dollars in revenue. It just won't!
Most of the big money that is made at the gates comes from the bottom section of the stadium. People who are above that won't pay much more.
As someone here said, for the amount of money they would pay for the ticket 100 yards away, might as well pay for a closed circuit PPV.

        PacMan Step Up!

PacMan is just Arums tool I don't think he's afraid of Mayweather; but he does have doubts about what he's up against (Mayweather/Arum) and his future political aspirations! The fact he's not showing he's in charge of the decisions concerning this fight could easily be viewed he will be swayed by men like Arum (psychopath) selfish dictator. PacMan is doing what he has to do to make money just like Arum. (Good Cop/PacMan Bad Cop/Arum) both are playing the public and laughing all the way to the bank! Anyone who can't see the nature of the game need a head exam. To many bad things can happen if this fight does not take place May 5 2012!

He's going to take his cash cow to another venue to spite them. He makes it seem as if Pacquiao is too big for the MGM. He feels the need to have more seats for his fights but they will find empty seats just as they did in Dallas. Everyone knows that Floyd fights at the MGM. What better way to duck the fight than to ask for it to be held elsewhere. Way to go Bob. The 1st fight in this new arena is going to tank.

Nice, plausible theory, Felon, but you are wrong and so are all the other people on her who comment on Arum's motives in building a temporary stadium. The truth is that Arum has no intention and never had any intention of building a temporary stadium. Pac's next fight and any future fights will either be at the MGM Grand or in Texas Stadium. The media refused to buy Arum's other excuses for not staging the fight on May 5, so he created the stadium excuse. One month from now, this temporary stadium will dissapear in the wind just like those investors that Arum claimed he was talking to in December when he started feeling the heat from the media about the fight; and Pacquaio will be fighting a fourth fight with Marquez at the MGM Grand

In australia we watch Aussie rules on a field that is over 200 yards long and 170 yards wide in a stadium that holds over 100k where the back seats are 70+ yards from the field and maybe 80-90 yards high and you can still kinda see what's going on up the far end.

Being at the back of a 38 k arena wouldn't be that bad but you wouldn't pay more 2-300$ max.

Also this temp arena won't have a great big screen I wouldn't think.

I think that Bob promised Bradley a fight with Pac, and also is using a possible rematch with Pac as bait to try and keep Cotto with Top Rank. If Pac were to lose against Floyd, both those fights lose marketability.

Don't think so. The media still isn't asking the hard(yet painfully obvious) questions or blasting Arum. Where are the ESPN guys who called the best pro fighter of the last 10-15 years a "coward"???? Where are they??? Why aren't they calling MP a coward (not my opinion, as he isn't a coward) on national television???

True, but there's already a 40k seat stadium in Vegas, andalso this place--------->http://www.mgmgrand.com/entertainmen...den-arena.aspx, where you could command an absolute premium for ringside seats, that would mop the flooor with anything you can charge at an oudoor fold up stadium.

This stadium excuse is just another unicorn from Manny and Bob.

                      Freom Yahoo:

"Top Rank president Todd duBoef, in New York on business, said Koncz phoned Arum immediately to inform him of the conversation. DuBoef said that Top Rank and Pacquiao want the fight, but that negotiating in public isn’t the way to make it happen.

“Obviously, in order to make things happen, we need to take this out of the realm of the public and social media and telephone calls and into private rooms and sit down and start moving the ball forward,” duBoef said. “That’s the way deals get done, not using social media to go back and forth in public. It will be far more productive to sit down and discuss the issues and hammer out a deal in a room.”

                      ^^^^

All well and good Todd, and i totally agree, however, to get into a room, one must first be willing to return phone calls and pick up the phone so all parties can meet in "a room" that is mutually agreeable. We all know you don't care to meet at all. If you did you would return Floyd's text to organise a meeting with him and his reps.

Also, a bit hypocritical given the countdown clock and the rest of the media shenaningans that have come from Bob since 2009.

                      and this......

"Arum told Sports Illustrated's website that it doesn't make sense financially for Pacquiao and Mayweather to fight on May 5, the date that the US boxer has insisted on.

                      ^^^

It doesn't make financial sense to take a fight that will sell 3m PPV's at $70 a pop, quite possiblt 4m??? But it makes more sense to leave all of that on the table to fight someone else?? This fight doesn't make financial sense for Bob Arum's pocket and his pocket only!!!!!
