So what about all the @ssholes saying he didn't need a guarantee?

TEACHABLE MOMENT: Everybody should just STFU until something is announced. Cuz we're all just arguing over rumors of rumors of gossip of rumors of ****.

      B) I'm sure by now Bob Arum has figured out he's losing a ton of money via the usual method they sell tickets- ie, through ticketmaster. The tickets are usually sold out within a few days because secondary vendors buy them in bulk and hike up the prices. For Manny-Marquez, stubhub had ringside tickets selling for as much as $16-20K, and nosebleeds tics as high as $1,000, and they were ALL sold out. They could make more by initially hiking up the prices (which they will) and keeping more for themselves instead of letting the secondary markets gobble them up. In addition, by building their own stadium, Top Rank would not be beholden to MGM properties, they would only have Wynn Casinos as a partner, and even that may not be necessary if TR puts up the capital itself, which they very well could.

      C) With the proper configuration, the bolded could be the going price, and even if it wasn't, a $1,200 per seat average might even be more on the conservative side. Hell, they had $2,400 as the cheapest nosebleed seat in Dallas for the Superbowl in a 100K+ capacity stadium. You're thinking way too small.
You are such a blind and ignorant *******. I almost forgot why I stopped arguing with you in the first place. Can you openly admit that if it were the other way around and Pacquiao were obliged to MGM May 5th and Floyd said he wanted to make an outdoor stadium, you would have the same opinion? The answer is NO. You are a ******* through and through and I have read your idiocy on this forum for a long time. Every one of your posts is an ignorant and baseless defense of your idol Manny Pacquiao and a defense to his team.

You are pathetic. Deep down in your ******* heart and spine you know that Pacquiao will lose this fight. You know that these are all excuses, and you know that it is ridiculous to believe you need to construct an outdoor stadium to make this fight happen.

Late at night after you and the knights of the ako pa ha circle jerk around the round table to a poster of a shirtless manny pacquiao, I know you lay your head down and actually find comfort in the fact that this fight has not taken place, and you are happy that Arum drags it out and does not allow it to happen because once it does, your idol is done, and honestly you aren't going to be able to deal with it because your love for Manny pacquiao goes much deeper than that of "just a fan."

but that applies to the MGM too so how exactly are TR going to generate additional 30-40 million off of the extra 20000 seats?

Even if he weren't obliged to fight on May 5th (he may very well not be) the late May date is just another excuse to not get it done. They know he doesn't want it late May. For christ sake's he will be in the slammer a week later. It's all crap. If people can't figure that out they aren't worth your tiem and effort. Just place them on ignore. This is ridiculous.....what they really want is to have it in June, against a guy not called Floyd Mayweather.

I remember the Jerry Jones offer. However, that has nothing to do with him waiting until January 2012 to mention that he needed to build a stadium to stage this fight when that could have been worked out in November 2011 if he had begun negotiating the fight with Mayweather's team.

On a side note, the MGM Grand paid a site fee fo $25 million to stage the De La Hoya/Mayweather fight. They would pay at least that amount to stage the Mayweather/Pac fight. How much of a site fee do you think Steve Wynn would pay to host a Mayweather/Pac fight in a temporary stadium with no casino that he already paid $7 million to build and they planned to tear down immediately after the fight?

If Arum wanted to hold the fight in a bigger venue, why not rent out the Las Vegas speedway which holds 120,000 or the UNLV stadium, which holds a lot more than 40,000? I would bet both venues could be rented out for less than $1 million. Instead, he proposed wasting $7 million on a temporary stadium? Does this sound like something that a sharp businessman like Arum would do?

I've been of the opinion since Floyd announced he booked the MGM for Cinco De Mayo 2 weeks before Pac-JMM 3 that he did so with the plan of fighting a Mexican from GBP's stable, this is well documented. All this tweeting just backs up the idea he's using Manny's name to pump up interest for the date he picked randomly without consulting or negotiating with the guy he supposedly reserved it for (see Mayweather-Ortiz 'And yes Manny pacquiao, you're next... I never said that').

Just trying to get some more opinions as to why May 5th is this holy, immovable and why a later date (only 3 weeks) could be MUTUALLY agreed upon and more $ can come of it. June 1st is the jail date, May 19th or 26th in no way affects that.

                    So... ideas?
Arum wants Floyd to go back to court and have his jail sentence pushed back to after June 9th.
