Ok why would you wait until after Christmas to negotiate a fight of this magnitude if it needs more time than usual to promote. Manny fought in mid November and you didnt start talking to him about fighting until 7 weeks later. The worst thing team pacman has done was open there mouths every other day because by doing that they have exposed themselves by showing everyone in the world they had no intentions of making the fight with floyd.These people are trying to save face but its to damn late now.

With every statement that comes out of the Pacquiao camp it's clear they don't want the fight and never did. The very fact that Roach would absurdly suggest that a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight would need promotion is a pathetic white flag; those guys need promotion like Jesus needs promotion. If by some bizarre set of circumstances the fight were held in a week, it would still sell several million ppv's. A fight between those two is the Holy Grail of boxing and to ineptly suggest otherwise says to me that, hey, these guys don’t want the fight plain and simple but they want to make it look like they do.

A date later than May 5th tells me these guys are about as serious as the Three Stooges. So let's see, you have the fight later in May so that Floyd has virtually no time to recuperate before going in to serve his time? These guys are just acting, and rather poorly at that. I love how they keep putting the fight just out of reach but are still trying to act like it’s Mayweather they want.

Manny's nothing more than a paycheck to Arum and Roach is just a stooge, at no time has it been more apparent. But in the end Manny has to be responsible for his own life and the outcomes. Right now his brain is on cruise control and Arum's the one doing all the cruising.

These guys are putting up a pretty united front on this have the fight later in May gibberish, one thing's for sure Arum knows how to crack that whip.

This fight honestly has been promoted longer than any fight in the last 20 years atleast!! If it was announced today that the fight was next saturday it will still sell 2 million plus.

Dubai: It is the most anticipated showdown in boxing history and it could be coming to a place near you.

Dubai has been touted as a likely venue for this summer's potential mega-fight between pound-for-pound kings Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Junior, according to the Filipino great's trainer Freddie Roach.

Roach says a suggested May 5 bout remains a possibility but that a later date in Dallas or Dubai would be a better option for the showdown that would be the richest fight ever, surpassing the $140 million (Dh514 million) purse when Mayweather fought Oscar de la Hoya five years ago.

"Dallas would be the best place to put on that fight in the US because you could get 100,000 people in Cowboys Stadium, but Dubai is the best money-wise," Roach told AFP.
He said an unnamed group was willing to put up the money so the fight could be staged in the UAE.

Unbeaten Mayweather set the ball rolling to make the on-and-off fight with Pacquiao happen in a Twitter message to his millions of followers.
Accompanied by a picture of him sitting next to his World Boxing Council welterweight championship belt, Mayweather tweeted: "I'm ready to put my belt up. What about you Manny Pacquiao? Let's make history... Step up Punk."
Pacquiao responded in an interview with GMA-7 TV in the Philippines, saying: "If he agrees to a 50-50 [share], then the fight will push through."

Purse sharing is still one of the sticking points that remain to be resolved between the pair, while another contentious issue is the venue of the fight.
Mayweather wants it at the MGM Grand which Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum feels is too small.

I love the fact that in November/December the whole Top Rank camp said that they weren't in a hurry to make a fight with anyone, and now they're saying that there isn't enough time to promote/build a temporary stadium.

Just retire, Pacquiao.
