Still no reasonable answer. Why does it has to be on May 5th? And not 3 weeks or one month later? They could easily postpone Floyds jail sentance for another month.
it would be far easier to utter the words,
"er may the 5th, yeah ok, where do i sign?"
than to go through the courts to change a prison sentence would it not?
(and the cut thing is bull and we all know that)
and til this day you, pac, and arum are still ducking the mayweather fight .arum and pacquiao seem to come up with an excuse after every fight, every other month, every other week, every other day, and now every other hour. (WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE BIGGEST FIGHT IN BOXING HISTORY!!!)
With every statement that comes out of the Pacquiao camp it's clear they don't want the fight and never did. The very fact that Roach would absurdly suggest that a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight would need promotion is a pathetic white flag; those guys need promotion like Jesus needs promotion. If by some bizarre set of circumstances the fight were held in a week, it would still sell several million ppv's. A fight between those two is the Holy Grail of boxing and to ineptly suggest otherwise says to me that, hey, these guys don’t want the fight plain and simple but they want to make it look like they do.
A date later than May 5th tells me these guys are about as serious as the Three Stooges. So let's see, you have the fight later in May so that Floyd has virtually no time to recuperate before going in to serve his time? These guys are just acting, and rather poorly at that. I love how they keep putting the fight just out of reach but are still trying to act like it’s Mayweather they want.
Manny's nothing more than a paycheck to Arum and Roach is just a stooge, at no time has it been more apparent. But in the end Manny has to be responsible for his own life and the outcomes. Right now his brain is on cruise control and Arum's the one doing all the cruising.
These guys are putting up a pretty united front on this have the fight later in May gibberish, one thing's for sure Arum knows how to crack that whip.
"A fight like that you really have to promote". How much more promotion does this thing need Freddie? It's been 2 dang years dude! Just say you don't want the fight already. Floyd set May 5th, the judge let him postpone because of the contacted date. SMH, these dudes man.
Exactly!
These Pac puppets need to shut up and stop insulting the boxing fans intellects.
Arum also indicated he would like Pacquiao to get through the Hatton fight before going up against Mayweather saying“I want Mayweather to stay there (in retirement) until September. The longer he’s out the more rusty he’ll be."
"We'll have a change in sparring partners and style because Mayweather is so different than our last four opponents [Cotto, Ricky Hatton, De La Hoya and David Diaz]. We have to study him really hard. But I know Mayweather really well. I just need Manny to see what I see." Freddie Roach.
Freddie Roach On Mayweather/Pacquiao.
"It would have to be a catch weight, probably 143, 144 (pounds)," Roach said. "I don't think it would be at 147. But Manny's not afraid of anyone."
Freddie Roach, May 1 2009
Arum said that Mayweather “is pretty fast” but that Pacquiao throws numerous punches but in an unorthodox way and “while Mayweather is a master boxerit will be very difficult for him to handle somebody as unorthodox as Manny is.”
Mayweather is a master boxer and Manny is just "Unorthodox". Arum don't want it. Pac fans just face it. Arum didn't even say "Manny would beat Floyd" he said "difficult to handle". Maybe for the first 3 rounds and then it's a wrap for Pac.
Team Pac NEVER believed in their hearts that Manny Pacquiao could beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. These are the quotes I have been posting for YEARS and it finally comes to past that Bob Arum did not want to risk Pac getting beat by Floyd. Pac fans and supporters called me a "hater" and a "*****" while all along I had it right and the rest were just dumb ass sheep. Funny how his supporters criticize me for picking against Pac in past fights and disregard how I called it spot on about the 3rd JMM fight while they called it wrong BIG TIME. Arum, Roach & Pac fooled a lot of people and I was one of them in the beginning.
Funny thing is that, Pac is actually a good fighter but he needed a better trainer and team to bring him to his full potential but fact of the matter is that he is the same fighter since 08. Team Pac had us believe that he was this changed fighter with a right hand because he was beating guys who were past it, handicapped or worthless. They were banking on Juan Manuel Marquez being over the hill and past it but anybody with a boxing brain would know that JMM doesn't lay down for nobody. The only one to get the best of him was Floyd and Pac ain't Floyd and that's the mistake they made. Instead of trying to outdo Floyd in the ring by fighting him. They decided to try and outdo him by fighting guys he beat but better by handicapping them or waiting to see weaknesses. Pac fans are morons. Manny is pure entertainment. Just ask good ol Bob Arum.....
"Manny is not dull. He is the aggressor. He is an entertaining fighter and I believe that most people that bought the fight tonight bought it not with the expectation that Shane Mosley was going to win," said Arum of Pacquiao, who was coming off of November's unanimous decision over Antonio Margarito.
"They bought the Antonio Margarito fight not because they thought that he was going to win, but because they wanted to be entertained by Manny Pacquiao," said Arum. "Manny is a great fighter. That's why people are buying his fights now. He has achieved greatness."
