Where is Arum getting an extra 40 million from?

There are only so many people who can have ringside seats. For the Mayweather De La Hoya fight the tickets closest to the ring were $2000, $1,500, and $1000. Mid point seats were $750 and seats furthers away from the action were $350 and $150.

If 30,000 extra people were going to fit in the arena the vast majority would be furthest away from the action ($350 to $150 range). Is Arum aware that in order to get an extra 40 million dollars at the gate those tickets that would normally be $350 to $150 would have to be in the $1,300 range?

If those extra 30,000 seats were $350 it would only be 10.5 million. I am not an expert on how this all operates so can somebody with more insight on how prices are set for seats explain to me where Arum is getting his math?

I know there's a lot of math that can be juggled around here... ringside seats can be jacked up... but how much higher than usual would people consider reasonable? Getting an extra 40 million seems exaggerated even in an arena that holds 45,000

I'm sure Arum over exaggerated the number in order to make it look like there is a shit load of money being lost at the MGM Grand.

To ordinary people, a single million is a shit load to lose out on but to these greedy, rich, ****** bastards, it isn't much. If arum and his penny pinching ways continue this trend, he could end up losing a lot more by not having the fight at all...or will he?

He could very well make more money in the long run by keeping Manny's fights in-house for the rest of his career. I'm sure that's been the plan all along, hence risking his money maker to a real threat outside of TopRank is a bad, bad idea for the greedy old son of a bitch.

Arum is going to "outsource" the fight to someone else. He wants at least 40 million to step a side and let another promoter or group take over co-promoting the fight and sharing the revenue with the fighters.
