Fighting Peterson doesn't make a lick of sense, no matter what angle you look at it from. I think Roach is just fixated on him because he just beat Amir and Freddie wants revenge. Other than that, how does anyone besides Lamont benefit from this fight?

According to recent interview with ESPN.com, trainer Freddie Roach selected Lamont Peterson as the top pick on his list for Manny Pacquiao. Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is meeting with Pacquiao to select an opponent for late-May or early June. Among the four selections, Roach has Peterson at the top of his list, followed by Timothy Bradley, Miguel Cotto and then Juan Manuel Marquez.

Peterson is clearly the worst opponent from Mayweather, Bradley, Marquez, Cotto, Peterson..... Team Pacquiao are a fraud.

So basically Manny's top options are two guys nobody knows and two guys Manny already fought. If he opts for a guy like Peterson or even Bradley when Floyd is calling him out it is going to look like an absolute duck.
