So who are the lawyers here who think Floyd cannot change a date to another May date? Lawyers please. And IF Floyd cannot change the date and he disobeys the judge, how is that different from the time he did not show up in court when he disobeyed the judge?????? He wasn't getting 40 million to do that! And who is to say that Team Pac won't accept May 5th??

This makes no sense. Why do you need someone to guarantee the purse when the parties have agreed to a 50-50 split?

Besides, how would the person who guarantees the purse make any money off the deal?

This is how it should work. If I am the promoter, I guarantee both sides a certain amount (say 50 mill a piece for a total of 100 mill). Then I (the promoter) make my money once the fight grosses that amount, plus any promotions costs (say another 10 mill for a guaranteed total of 110 mill) . Anything above that amount is my profit.

No one would risk that kind of money unless they themselves were assured of making a profit. It seems Arum wants to be the promoter without taking any risks. Does anyone think this fight won't sell?

Don King would guarantee the money if he were allowed to "promote" the fight.

You should also add the Ali's daughter Laila said in an interview that Floyd is a more technically sound fighter than her father was. A true boxing fan would say Floyd is a better fighter than Ali was and probably all those legends invited to the dinner. Stop trying to jump topic.
