It's pretty clear Arum don't want none. Pac said his cut is fine, May 5th is the best ppv date in spring, there's literally no reason why Pac can't sign to fight Floyd on that date.

Are you familiar with the expression "maximizing profits"?
So you are behind the idea of building the stadium then?

Why should Floyd care anyway, he will have his purse guaranteed by GBP.

And seriously if you want to see this fight it not going to matter what weekend it is on.

Can you find me anyone that not going to watch this if it is not on May 5th?

THINK ABOUT IT...If Manny loses or wins...Their will be another fight. Thats more money. win win for arum. Manny is a comeback fighter with 3 loses on his record. A lost wont end Manny! Or arum. Its a business. Wake up and see where the problems are really coming from and have been!
      I agree.

It appears that Pacquiao is ducking Mayweather like a b1tch.

His cut will never heal if he keeps hiding behind Mommy Arum's apron strings.

But they are expecting something on May 5th. While Bob Arum is talking about November, May and June within 1 week, Mayweather has stuck by May 5th ever since he called out Manny Pacquiao. And to me...no scratch that. To a normal person, it is safer to put your faith on that one definite date rather than some out of control, indecisive 3 different months of possible dates. Just saying.

Now you're turn. From a fan's perspective, tell me why it should be end of May instead of May 5th.
        Good point, and good post.

          Arum is full of ****.

Floyd's jail sentence was postponed because he was under a contractual obligation to fight on the 5th of May. If he fights on a day other than May 5th the initial contract signed before his sentence would be broken and he would likely go to Jail.

Arum is a ''Harvard'' lawyer, surely he would know this.

From a fans perspective.... i can care less when they fight on what day! i just wanna see the fight. To argue if its beginning of May end of May like it makes a whole hell of a lot of deference e(which it does not) is ******. Not as ****** as a fighter ..either one of them being accused of ducking because of date issues. Manny has no prior engagements. Floyd has to go to jail. Floyd wont get everything his way. Manny has said countless times...that he has done alot in this sport and is happy with all his accomplishments. He dont ned Floyd. Floyd isnt anything but another fighter to him!

So Floyd wanted May 5th, Pac wanted first week of June. So which means that Team Pac bended, and decided that they will take the fight on the end of May. So it seems that team Pac are the one making compromises just to make this fight happen.. The problems with *****s, is that all or nothing with Floyd.. Pac already agreed to Floyd's demand of drug testing.. I mean I dont know about you idiots, but it seems that as far as Pac-May is concern, its Pac who is trying to compromise to make this happen...

''I can care less'' suggest that you care a sufficient amount, which is why there is room for caring less. You should have said ''I couldn't care less'' it suggest that there is an insufficient amount of care which is why it is not possible for you to care any less than you already do.

didn't read through the whole thread yet, so idk if this has been mentioned...but Arum knows this can't happen...

Floyd already has a date booked for the 5th...that is why his sentence was delayed until June, specifically because the date was already booked. Because of that I would imagine that Floyd's hands are pretty tied, and moving the date might even be a violation of the agreement to delay his reporting for his jail sentence...Arum knows this and is simply trying to save face...

IMO, a WEAK article...there is no "bending" going on here...simple Arum trying to save face for himself and his prized possession...

Of course they would still watch but the ratings change according to the date. May 5th is the date that guarantees the highest ratings in May, it's not even up for debate. Lots of people who work on weekends will take their saturday off to be with their family and watch a fight together. They are more likely to do it on that date than any other date.

No I wasn't behind the stadium idea because I did the maths and it didn't add up to those $20 mil Arum was talking about : http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...6#post11653066

So you think fighters only care about their guaranteed purse? Did you start following boxing yesterday? Do you know that fighters sometimes get a piece of the ppv money and therefore wanna make sure their fights sell as many ppvs as possible?

To me it makes no difference, the question is what difference does it make for Arum? What's his reason for wanting to schedule the fight at end of May instead of May 5th?
