As much as i think everyone wants this fight.....from a dollar perspective, having it May 5th just doesn't make sense. 3 months of getting promos going, and bringing all together on the fly....it just might not have the same build up. Remember, for us true fans, we need no build up, but for the casual fan that watches 1 maybe 2 fights a year, thats the audience that might not be as excited had a full fledged tour taken/takes place.

In a perfect world, Pac and Floyd say....screw the promo, lets just do it (which i think they want), but to think that money will NOT play a role from promoting such a huge event is just crazy. So all this talk of "im here waiting, lets do it already",could very well end up being just hot air. This event will make so much money, that even money lost from poor promoting could cost both sides millions.

I hope im wrong, and for the good of the sport, they put the fans first for once.

It has been marinating for over 2 years in the public eye...no more promotion is necessary. These guys are big enough stars to get onto all the major shows, etc to promote and they have the perfect storyline with Mayweather going to jail and having his sentence pushed back.

"Bad boy Mayweather is going to jail! Will this affect his performance"
"Will righteous congressman Manny Pacquiao give Mayweather his first defeat"

What would more time do for the promotion? Nothing, you don't want to be promoting something for too long, after a while it will become pointless...people will watch some promo stuff and see the fight isn't even happening for another 6 months then turn over and say "I'll check it out closer to the time"
