I am unimpressed with him over all, throws slaps with no power, eats a ton of punches.....its amazing to me he has been winning so long.

So maybe he sucks. Or maybe he's good but just seems like he sucks because of the aforementioned reasons.

One thing's for sure, the Cowboy Guy's boxing totally ******.
      bingo

cannot really tell until he actually boxes. What he does in there is using his boxing skillset within the frame of MMA and it's successful for him in that sport

as a pure boxer I venture to say he won't fair as well

what's his weight 170? so say about 168 or 175?

I couldn't see him going against the likes of guys like Miranda let alone the top tier. Hell Librado Andrade would make him pay IMO

He is very accurate. And like someone said, durable. Bj Penn, Silva, and GSP all have better "boxing", but Diaz is relentless. While he boxes you, he's also playing mind games.

It's kind of like asking how good of a "boxer" Margarito is.

Most would say he's not a great traditional boxer but he's relentless and will get to you sooner than later. Sometimes being tough overcomes flaws.

It very good when he's fighting MMA fighters with no boxing technique what so ever. But in a boxing ring with a legit boxer Diaz would get picked apart and KO'd.

It's not anything like that at all.

IMO in MMA, his boxing is "great" because his opponent's defense against his boxing is quite poor. Joe Rogan has been mentioning him on his podcast a lot lately. Rogan mentions that Diaz doesn't really put a lot of power in his punches but rather goes for a relentless attack. Add to this Diaz's almost unlimited stamina (the guy literally swam from Alcatraz TWICE just for fun). IMO, he's more like a relentless Joe Calzaghe without the boxing skill.

Rogan and his friend, Eddie Bravo, talked in the last podcast about how BJ Penn got angry with Diaz because he wouldn't "fight him like a man."

He can control the gap between him and his opponent because of his range and jiu-jitsu. Accuracy and stamina are his biggest attributes in regards to actual boxing ability. I think his chin is ok but the one video I've seen of him sparring was not impressive... Btw, I'm a big fan.
