Boxing Fans, HOW good is Nick Diaz's BOXING?

Why is his Boxing so effective in MMA? Remember when Freddie Roach Said BJ penn had the best boxing in MMA? Nick Diaz boxed him up...

Also what do you guys think of his fight with Condit. With the "stand up" department.

Not very good. He is just super tough and active. Gomi rocked him hard, it's just too bad he trained on ice cream for the fight.

Decent enough to where if he dedicated himself to it he could be a viable journeyman getting on networks here and there as an opponent.

        horrific.

he got outboxed and messed up by a journeyman K J Noons.

he was outboxed by a 5'3 LW Sean Sherk.

It's hard to tell because he's not in a real boxing stance. And even when he is in a boxing stance, he is worrying about a takedown. It's hard to look good boxing when you're worried about someone lunging at your legs.

So maybe he sucks. Or maybe he's good but just seems like he sucks because of the aforementioned reasons.

One thing's for sure, the Cowboy Guy's boxing totally ******.

You must have seen some video footage that nobody else has seen then. Diaz's boxing is horrible in the ring and his boxing is horrible in the OCTAGON.

He's greatest strength is his durability.

You're confusing Nate and Nick I think..... and Cowboy is actually a legit kickboxer. The money is just in the ufc. He landed some pretty hard kicks on Nate the other weekend.

PS Nick vs Condit will probably look just like Nate when he fought Cowboy Cerrone.

                This.

It's definitely difficult to "Box" when you have to worry about so many other types of attacks. I would still prefer to see him in an actual boxing match to make a proper assessment.

Both the Diaz brothers do have the right boxing mentality of not every punch having to be haymakers.

Right now when I think of someone who mixes a good amount of boxing into MMA, my choice would be Frankie Edgar.

He's good at walking a guy down and keeping him on the end of his punches. Perhaps a little on the slow and plodding side. He can't use a boxer's movement or dedicate himself to punches like a boxer would because of the grappling dynamic. His boxing is quite decent for MMA, but I'm hesitant to speculate how he'd do as a boxer since I haven't sign him in that capacity. I will say that I have a hard time imagining him boxing on an elite level.
