Tszyu was coming off an injured to fight Mitchel and 7 months after fought Hatton

I agree and Cotto became a better ring technician later on after moving up. He tried to overpower guys @ 140 which would've been hard to do againt Hatton at the time. I see him stopping Cotto over the long haul similarly to the Tszyu stoppage.

I agree that Hatton's people probably avoided the fight because it was High Risk/Low Reward, alot like Mayweather avoiding Cotto. A duck if you will... But I still think Hatton had a good shot at 140 at that time.

let's not forget he probably should have lost to Collazo. And nearly KO'd by Juan Lazcano.

Hatton was a decent fighter, not a great. Had a very good win over Tszyu but Tszyu wasn't prime himself.

Cotto was a better fighter than Hatton in every possible way. Better boxer, better technical skills, faster, stronger, better footwork, better defense, etc.

The Kostya that Hatton fought and the Kostya who we regarded as the top 140lber were too different fighters by then. Still a good win for Hatton, but even then I believe Cotto was a much more dangerous fight based on styles. But all in all, it's really all speculation.

Many fighters, most notably Kostya Tszyu who is known for his punching power.

I take it that the only thing you know about Hatton was that he was knocked out by Manny in two rnds huh?

That's what the newbies all think.
