Something a little like this. The guy had power though, no dis*****g that.

I saw that image and have to watch that fight again. Still cannot believe the beating that Mesi took in rounds 9 and 10. I am now wondering if Mesi would still be fighting today if the ref stopped the fight after the 2nd KO.

Mesi's first knockdown in that fight came from an illegal rabbit punch. After that the damage was done. He had a great chin against some tough guys before that.

And gimme a break about Tyson beating him. He was suppose to take on Tyson but when he got hurt Tyson went with McBride. If he couldn;t beat McBride then he couldn't beat a top ten heavy.

Mesi was not the greatest but he was fun to watch and had a shot. Great power along with some top notch skill. He will be back. His hearing is next month at the Nevada State supreme court. It is also rumored that he might fight Holyfield on the undercard in Germany for Ruiz.

Mesi would be just like Wladimir Klitschko...can't take a punch so never a serious threat

So let me get this right. Wlad has no chin and eeked out a UD against a guy with no skill (Peter). But Mesi (former #1 WBC conteder, #4 IBF and #7 WBA). And Wlad is better. I admit that Mesi is not the greatest. But if Wlad fought Mesi it wouldn't be close. He has just as much power as Peter and 5 times the skill.

I liked Mesi, but he didn't have a lot of skill. He may have developed into a good boxer, but that was not meant to be.

Compare their records. I admit, Wlad is my favorite boxer, but his record compared to Mesi's is CLEARLY better. Jirov is one of my favorite fighters, but do you know what Wlad would have done to him? He would have butchered Jirov, and Mesi barely survived him. We should not even be discussing this.

Wlad has some better wins, but also has some very poor losses.

It is by no means a no contest debate.
