Im not dis*****g the punching power of foreman because many people recognize him as the hardest puncher in the history of our beloved sport. but... when i watch film (and he is not one of my favorite fighters, although much respected) he seems awful slow and stationary. maybe its the old cameras, but he doesnt seem to have the hand speed that some of my more favorite punchers had (tyson in particular) and he doesnt seem to have the explosive hip movements either. hell he doesnt even look like he trying to punch hard, but its evident that he does. now i know a big part of fighting is being elusive, which may be the exact answer to my question, but my question is, how does someone who looks to be so slow, be such a feared fighter in the ring. You look at tyson vs lewis, tyson never had slow hands, yet lewis picked him apart because tyson stopped moving his head (probably due to conditioning?). Foreman never moved his head (so it looked) yet fighters seemed to be afraid of using the counterpunch regardless of his seemingly slow demeanor. Am i missing something here vets? or was foreman just that elusive in the ring.
