I don't understand whats up with this? If floyd isn't gonna fight manny(which is for sure) why aren't we talkin about a floyd-martinez fight? I'm sure they could meet in the middle as far as weight goes, pretty sure i read sergio saying he would. Floyd is the BEST IN THE GAME, but this sht has to stop. Floyd would beat sergio and imo even 1-up manny with that win so just fight. We all know you won't have to fight in pc floydee

Thing is his legacy was set at Hatton & Cotto, as a former light flyweight winning his fourth lineal belt destroying the proven 140 king, and then smashing an established top weltwerweight champ. This after he came out 5-1-1 in his rivalry with the great Mexicans at the lower weights and having knocked out established champions for his first 3 division titles as a big underdog.

With Floyd, DLH and then Hatton is where it should have ended and he needed legitimate fights vs prime guys to build his legacy to where it should be.

Floyd should have fought Hatton at j.welter after they both won titles in big fights only weeks apart in the same month. Problem is Hatton was the #1 and brought more money from the UK market than Floyd did from the US at the time, and Floyd didn't want to fight him unless he could make all the demands, he wanted it in the US and to pick the ref, and to take more of the money.

Making sure he minimises risk as much as he can before taking a fight is how the guy has been operating since.

Retiring when welter was packed with hot fighters and big fights, to come back and pick a fight with Marquez and not make the catchweight for any easy payday instead of one of these top welters.

Mosley only after he had a hyped win and was 38 and unfortunately off a 15 month layoff. That was his best win in the 4 years since De La Hoya-Hatton, and his fans wonder how he can be criticised, really?

Ortiz after just one hyped win at the weight instead of Pac.

Now Guerrero is being brought up, which is a nothing fight, and Canelo, equally will bring little to his legacy, when Pac, Martinez and Cotto should be the only options. His fans let him get away with it, they refuse to criticise him. He's just become a waste of talent with all these meaningless inhouse matchups with Golden Boy.
      Excellent post. Green K!
