That's the only way. When Roy beat Hopkins in 93', it was looked at as a good/decent win, not really great or anything. But, Bernard went on to have a HOF career and even though he may have been a little green when Roy fought him, that's looked at as a great win now.

I'd like the Alvarez fight much better if he'd beaten people like Vanes or Angulo instead of just Rhodes and Cintron, or I'd like it better in May 2013 if he'd beat someone like Cotto or Kirkland.

Oh well, in the f**ked up world of boxing, we have Bob Arum preventing a mega fight and Manny not stepping up and forcing Bob to make it.

The ball is in Manny's court, no matter what anyone says.

          canelo is garbage

          easy payday for floyd

kirkland, cotto, of course martinez are tougher fights than canelo. not saying kirkland or cotto would win but they pose more problems than canelo ever would

but canelo brings fans and plenty of them that do not know nothing about boxing to believe the kid is any good let alone stand a chance against floyd or the guys that i mentioned above

this is smart business move by floyd if he fights canelo

Martinez = not a smart business move much higher risk of a fight and he doesnt bring many fans for ppv event

canelo needs to fight kirkland next...he doesn't deserve nor do I think he's ready for a guy like mayweather. you don't fight guys like rhodes, gomez, and cintron and think you're prepared for top tier fighters like mayweather or pacquiao.

If Pac fought Canelo or Ortiz, you *****s would have crucified Pac for fighting straight, head-on, no movement brawlers.. Canelo is goin to get KO'd by Pac easily, and would get dominated by Floyd. I cant even believe he is even in the mix.. Wasn't he exposed by his fellow-mexican like JCC Sr, Marquez, Nacho Beristain as too young and too hyped up like a few months ago..

May 5, 2012 Floyd vs Canelo for WBC light middleweight title.

What he proves? That he dont need a catch weight to earn a title. That he can fight and beat a young stronger fighter with some abilities. Compare to the light middleweight title Pac earn by beating a one dimensional brawler. Floyd trying to prove a point.
                their fighting at 150

Canelo is a step up from Ortiz IMO.
