That's a good point. HBO screwed Sergio but then turned around and coddled Chavez, not enough people are giving them grief over this.

I was also thinking that, hbo must have asked Martínez to leave Jr. alone and go seek for belts somewhere else. I think that the wbc was going to give him a shot right after Rubio.

HBO bought a fight that would give them ratings(Chavez for a belt), how's HBO in the wrong here? they can do with their money what they want. The fighters make the decision to do what HBO tells them to do because they like to get paid. Simple as that. Sergio is probably my favorite active fighter(well, my favorite relevant fighter), but that's the harsh reality when you don't have a fanbase and have to live off HBO...Team Martinez put themselves in this position to get ****d by the WBC

Team Martinez didnt even push enough for the fight...im sure they couldve pulled a lawsuit against the WBC, like Rocchiegani did back in the day.

People, don't you realize Chavez has the name, HBO, Top Rank and he can fight? Martinez needs Chavez not the other way around.

Unfortunately lots of guys follow him just because he's "The son of the legend" and because Tv Azteca keeps promoting him and hyping him up with all the casual fans. Unlike most guys in this forum, most people don't realize all the coward moves and ****** things Jr has done, so they don't really know how bad he really is.

some of these post r funny.... chavez aint scared or a coward..it takes balls to get in da ring and fight all da time. most people dont know dat chavez jr never fought as a amature.. he went straight to pro without fighting ones!! give da kid hes credit for having da record dat he has whom ever he fought. martinez is one of my favorite fighters but he keeps making da mistake of dropping his belts to make bigger fights and more money..dats his own fault!! martinez should keep his belt and with due time all roads will lead to him!!

They are too tall. At this stage, Sergio want boxers not taller than 5' 8".
