that said, Martinez didn't have to do what HBO wanted( he got paid handsomely even if he gave up his WBC belt in order to satisfy HBO), and Chavez Jr is not responsible for the mess that Sulaiman made by naming Rubio a mando and Martinez an emeritus champion. How come Team Martinez claimed they didnt give a fu.ck about being stripped of the WBO belt and have no reason to fight Pirog, but when they willingly(because they chose HBO money over the WBC belt) gave up the WBC belt, they want Chavez Jr because of the belt(yeah, that trustfund baby money is not the real reason...right)
The WBO stripped Martinez basically right after he won it from Pavlik because he also held the WBC 154 title at the time. Martinez wasn't sure to remain at 154 or 160, the WBC gave him time to decide. the WBO wanted to give the strap to Jacobs but Pirog upset that. the WBO just didn't want Martinez as champion.

The Racket Squad: Corruption In Bloom

In the most corrupt sport on Earth you get what they throw you.
Chavez Jr. is certainly not a coward. He simply cannot compete at a Martinez level and he earns too much to have his train derailed.
The business of Boxing has always been the priority.
The fighter is simply the tool that churns out the dollars.
He is dispensible once his role has been played out.
No pension. No 410 K. No health insurance. No future.

The funny part is that the best fought the best when the REAL gangsters ruled the game.
            Gee. I wonder why?
Without a Federal Committee that will protect prizefighters, the sport will fade into a WWF fate.
            The alphabet organizations must go.
Ring Magazine is the only true voice in prizefighting.

Now all of a sudden Martinez is b*tching about mandatories but where was this position when he flat out ducked ZBik and Pirog?

Martinez is a flat out hypocrite and jealous cuz JCC JR at 25 or whatever his age is has already made more than Martinez has made in his entire career.
