The "die on the ring" thing is overrated and overhyped. I call it:

    “The Margarito Syndrome”

Recently, Max Kellerman put into Margarito’s mouth the “...would you die on the ring..” and he (Margarito) ran with it.

Now, Chavez Jr. said that he would “die on the ring”, and some folks are going wild with this. This is part of the show, don’t take it literary folks! You have to keep it real.

If a boxer were given the choice of dying and wining or living and losing 99.99999999999% will choose the later.

So what you think? Overrated/overhyped Fad or “I’m the Macho Man”, and will die on the ring? Explain why.
This is nothing new, boxers have been saying this for decades and some of them mean it. I believe Marg believed it and so does Marquez.

Boxers do die in the ring, it happens every year. If you aren't willing to die then you won't give all of yourself in there. It's not your job to quit, it's the job of the ref and corner to protect you.

If the sport is your life, fcuk it then. If you're a bum that only step into the ring to get a check.. Oh well.

        Max Kellerman quote him.

        Margarito had always said that.

Boxers just say that to sound tuff. In cheatos case he is probably so ****** that he would risk his livelihood to prove a moot point, but what if he wasn't to die? what if he just stays in vegetative state? All the money he made was going to medical bills, his wife has to resort to whoring to support his kid.. see where I am going with this? They actually think that they can die a quick death not thinking that they can end up like mcellan or other boxers who have stayed alive but are useless. Even floyd stated this supposedly when moseley rocked him, didn't he state that he told sugar "you're going to have to kill me"?

Although I certainly understood the point you were trying to make, "The Margarito Syndrome" is not a 'fad'. I think the results of this pool would prove that.

Ain't nobody won a fight dying in the ring~

Being willing to pay the ultimate price to try and win, is pretty romantic for a boxing ring~

That sounds like Floyd, he's always been one of those fight-to-the-death type of guys, lol.

It's a combo of ******ity/hype and an excess of testosterone.

I see it as a "Fad". At times is missused/exagerated.
