Pretty much. Margarito isn't the first to say it either, it's been around for a while...

Think this was just a sneaky thread created to diss Margarito by a female-like Cotto fan......

Its just ****** macho talk. Cotto knows what's up, this is a career, you make your money, stay healthy and get out. Dying in the ring shouldn't be joked about or used as a cheap sound bite.

A real fighter looks for the biggest badass around and says to himself I would knock that fool out knowing that there is a possibility that the badass could do some serious damage. The average Joe wants no part of the biggest badass cuz they know he will do some serious damage. They are just wired differently than most people. Guys like Ali, Frazier, Holyfield, Margarito, Gatti, Corrales probably meant every word of the sentence "I would die in the ring." Even when completely overmatched, they always went down swingin. It's a fighting style and attitude and a certain pride that is something guys only can show in a ring and not mention in an interview. You can say it but it's only proven by actions in the ring.

No it's not a fad and nor will it ever go away. It's what we love about face first brawlers that act like The Honey Badger and don't give a ****.

Obviosuly they wouldn't die, but they mean they will go to war, get their face all f'd up, break a hand, cut up their face and keep fighting and taking risks, this is boxing its what its all about.
They aren't warriors. Boxers are more like modern day gladiators.

I believe this is an OVERRATED/OVERHYPED fad. These guys are professional boxers. They do this for money, and are expected to give 110% in a fight.

The "die on the ring" thing is overrated and overhyped. I call it:

                      “The Margarito Syndrome”

Recently, Max Kellerman put into Margarito’s mouth the “...would you die on the ring..” and he (Margarito) ran with it.

Now, Chavez Jr. said that he would “die on the ring”, and some folks are going wild with this. This is part of the show, don’t take it literary folks! You have to keep it real.

If a boxer were given the choice of dying and wining or living and losing 99.99999999999% will choose the later.

So what you think? Overrated/overhyped Fad or “I’m the Macho Man”, and will die on the ring? Explain why.

Sorry that it's better to not sacrifice "for the fans" like other boxers. Dude proved he will die in the ring. He has my props.

I bet if it was a PR boxer who would "give his life in the ring", your tones would change. You guys are the most fanatical pieces of shit on here.
