Nah, those fights were a lot closer than the Delahoya/Trinidad fight. Trinidad landed absolutely nothing of significance until at least the 10th round. Trinidad looked foolish in there as Oscar toyed with him.

Funny how nearly every sports writer and even HBO had it a one or two point swing.

A case cannot be made for Oscar winning the Quartey fight. He won 3 rounds max.

Oscar imo has an awsome resume. I have more respect for him for losing fights against top fighters than avoiding them all together. He wanted to challenge himself against the best and he did. Isn't that what a true fighter is suppose to do??? As a true fighter fighting top opposition, you're going to win some and you're definitely going to lose some. But when your career is over, you get that respect as a true warrior who didn't duck anyone. Who can you say that about now in this era? I give him his props for ditching Arum and becoming even bigger and richer. As his own cashcow, he could have picked and chose his opponents, but instead, fought the best.

Its true, I would have loved to have seen him fight Terry Norris back in the 90's or Wright and Forrest, but no fighter is perfect. He would have won some of those fights if he had stayed with just one trainer. He kept switching trainers to get better but it hurt his career imo. I think he should have stayed with Mayweather.

Imagine if he had won all his big fights. With those names on his resume, he would have went down as the greatest of all time HANDS DOWN!!! Maybe one day another fighter will come along and want the same challenges and take the same risks. I thought at one point it would have been Cotto. These promoters are hurting the sport now because its always business first. Hopefully Oscar will do the same as a promoter as he did as a fighter and make his guys fight the best.

Please stop the "who cares if Oscar lost, he fought the best blah blah crap." Couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, it's why I rate his resume even less. He tried for every conceivable advantage, usually fighting opponents at their lowest point...and would still lose. Case in point: Manny Pacquiao. Fighting Hopkins at 156. Vargas who hadn't looked good in years. On and on.

Oscar has one of the best resumes of the past 15 yrs. He fought damn near everybody, sure he lost some that he should have won and won some that he should have lost but the man always sought out the best to challenge himself. He missed Wright and Forrest and a few others but he consistently fought a who's who of boxing and in his prime was a great fighter.

He's not the goat or even close to it but his resume and choice of opposition is amazing. I give his resume an "A" because it deserves one. Alot of people now hate Oscar for whatever reasons (Tito fans, Pac fans, Vargas fans, and many other reasons) but the truth is that he was a great fighter in his prime and he fought damn near everyone.

Its funny how when he was fighting and in his prime damn near everyone loved him and some overrated him and now that hes done alot of people hate him or just love to hate on him just like the reverse situation with Larry Holmes. When Holmes was fighting in his prime people didnt like him and underrated him and didnt appreciate him and now that hes retired and not fighting people now realize how good he actually was and now give him his props.

This always happens in boxing, **** it!

              Oscar's resume is bad a$$!

The same can be said about many fighters. If you're gonna call out one fighter for doing it the you should call out all the other fighters that also do it! Case in point: Pac, Floyd, damn near everyone else etc.etc.

This is the hatred I am talking about. You make a thread asking people to give you their opinions on his resume and when you read some opinions that are different from yours, you get angry and say crap like "please stop the, who cares if Oscar lost, he fought the best blah blah crap"!

Which is it? What do you want? Did you make this thread so that people could give their opinion on his resume or so people can agree with yours?

We're discussing Oscar here. If you have this issue with other fighters, raise them in another thread for discussion. And pull your skirt down. The bottom line is that his best win is probably Ike Quartey. If that's ATG status, more power to you.

He stopped Pea's title reign and when Pea was P4P #1 at that. That was a better win than Vargas or Quartey.

If it was so simple how come no one sees it that way? It's not his best win because Pea was such in title only. Are we boxing fans or not? Pea was coming off a dreadful performance against Diobylis Hurtado where he was dropped twice. Prior to that he looked subpar in two fights against Wilfredo Rivera. While he was still ranked high (because he hadn't lost), he was a HUGE underdog against Oscar. And pulled it off anyway, in the eyes of many.
