My opinion, its a Trainer of the Year award, not a lifetime achievment or decade award, so it should be judged on what has happened this last year. Roach has done great things with Khan and Manny, but this last year wasn't really a shining year.

I'd give it to Roger if he had someone else making waves other than Floyd, Floyd only fought once this last year, so its tough to judge Rogers training off of just the one fight. Although, at Floyd's age he doesn't appear to be slipping....
So i just changed my mind while typing this, give it to roger, Y-The-F-Not

trains JMM who just school Paquiao again. Resurected the career of Jorge Arce who became a champion in two divisions 122 and 118 betting the guy who previously beat him to win the 118 pund title.

Hate'em or love him, Mayweather Sr. has a point that should not be ignored.

Why hasn't Roger Mayweather ever received an award for training arguably the greatest fighter of this era? I think it's a valid question that people should seriously look at.

sorry sir.... robert garcia is more deserving (donaire, rios, mikey)

roger & sr STILL dont touch roach... roach is 2/2 with pac... 2/3 with khan... 3/3 with JCC jr.... 1/2 with linares... OVERALL, not a bad year for roach. he DEFINITELY didnt finish strong, but he still had a solid year.

roger has floyd (1/1) & vargas (4/4)... and floyd sr. has been doing work with MMA fighters....

if people are willling to give the nod to roger for consistency, then i would think wlad/steward is more deserving (they actually defend their titles & fight more frequent).

nacho NEVER gets enough props. he is one of the most UNDERRATED but respected trainers around.

valid question, but here is the valid answer:
robert garcia, nacho beristain, & emmanuel steward still rank above roger.... just because floyd is p4p doesnt equate roger being the best trainer. so youre telling me roger training floyd once a year is enough to get him the nod???? even his work with jesse vargas isnt that impressive (yet).

I agree with Mayweather Sr. his brother should have won @ least one award by now.

Don "Nacho" will not get it cause he is not trainning in the USA.

Wikipedia say he has 4 current Champions counting Juan Carlos Salgado.
