I suppose roach got it because he taught Pac so well, Pac was able to beat legends like Morales and Barrera types.

Floyd probably has to beat a great fighter to get a award of some kind. Beating DLH doesnt warrant any award i guess, nor does beating a SSM who already lost 5 times.
Senior might have been able to get training awards for defense work. But his offense work is probably lacking as well.

I could be wrong but I am almost positive pacquiao didn't beat up an old Barrera and cherry picked Morales in 2011, again I could be wrong.

For the first time ever I find myself agreeing with Floyd Sr. Trainer of the year is just a popularity contest. Roaches fighters looked like **** in 2011 (except for Chavez Jr.) for him to even be considered as trainer of the year this year is a joke... as for Floyd siggesting Roger should be considered trainer of the year is an even bigger joke... He has said it himself that he doesnt go into a fight with a game plan. he just lets Floyd "do his thing."
