Prime is both physical and mental imo. Once your physical prime goes, you can't really get it back. It's about maintaining a balance between these two, make sure that both are maturing at or near the same pace. Fighters like Floyd and B-Hop are not necessarily in their physical prime anymore, but they are not SO far from it, where they still can't take advantage of their in-ring intellect. A lot of young fighters take advantage of their physical gifts and ignore their mental development, those are the fighters that don't last.Comment

Doesnt seem quite right when applied to naseem hamed. Lost only once. Whether it was ever really winnable for him is debatable. It was certainly not consistent but was forced into retirement because his punching power was too great for his mortal hands to contain. He still otherwise had all the attributes to make him prime. Just that he was a massive right hand away that could knock out an opponent but also leave his hand a grotesquely deformed mess at any given point in time.Comment

dudes past their primes are in business like never before.....Arum is always looking for one of them to dance with his cash cow.....thats when you know a fighter is past it...when Arum puts his name in the same sentence with his main man and is WILLING to make the fight happen!!
