Would Floyd Mayweather have any chance against Ray Robinson?

Not quite, Srr defended the 160 lb title multiple times and fought at 175, DLH only beat Sturm at 160 at that was dodgy. That and the fact he is listed as an inch taller would suggest SRR was the bigger guy, he was certainly more comfortable withb bigger opponents.
The DHL Floyd beat was nowhere his prime and certainly not near prime SRR and that was a reasonably close fight.Comment

No, not really. Not to take away from Floyd, I think he is a truly great fighter and gives almost any fighter from 147 and below hell. But Robinson had every advantage (except for his defense) INCLUDING 4 inches in height and just overall size. I think he'd KO Mayweather tbh. Robinson was a fucking monster man.Comment

Sugar Ray Robinson vs Jake Lamotta III
One of Ray's best wins in his prime. Was trying to find his fight against Armstrong, but was unable to.
Floyd Mayweather vs. Ricky Hatton
One of Floyd's best wins at Welterweight in his prime
I realize Hatton was not Floyd's absolute greatest performance, but it was one of his biggest wins at 147, in his prime years.
So, there's two good looks at each guy in their primes at 147 against top people. They are such different era's, it's almost not even fair to compare them.
Yes, SRR is a pioneer to modern boxing, and in his day, was by far the best to ever do it.
Mayweather has honed those fundamentals that Robinson helped pioneer and has taken them to another level 60 years later. Like every other sport on the planet, boxing has evolved. If Floyd Mayweather lived in Robinson's day, who knows.Comment

Things to consider:
- Robinson had one of the greatest chins in boxing
- One of the greatest combination punchers
- Had KO power in both hands
- Robinson could box and brawl
- He was big for a welterweightComment
