Why is Pirog ducking Lara and Golovkin?
Given the comfort and convenience, this option is better for me than holding fights in the United States
I hope he changes his mind about coming to the US. He's wasting his career. Dude needs to get his ass on ESPN at least. Knockout a couple bums on ESPN while looking impressive. Then move up to Showtime against any top contender. Force HBO's hand.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 12-25-2011, 01:06 PM.

Very disappointing news. He must feel hard done by the network execs.
Still repeating this canard?
Great job Pirog. Making millions fighting no-names in Russia instead of fighting in the US is definitely the best way to land a date on American premium cable. Surely you'll get the Martinez fight now.

What would really help Pirog's cause is:
1. Some evidence of an ethnic homebase, like Poles in NJ/Chicago or Armenians in Glendale. They should test the waters on one of these new Versus shows in NY.
2. Better promo representation in the US, Banner will not cut it. LDB would be a natural choice, but the timing might be wrong for that.

if pirog wants the BIG fights he needs to step it up a bit, i know he likes fighting in russia but you have to come to the states, s**t the only reason i ever heard of him was becuz of his fight over here against jacobs. he needs to fight kid chocolate, vanes or even lara if they move up. if im not mistakin he's already 30 something so he needs to pick it up. even if he loses he can still prob still cherry pick a belt and go back to russia and make good money. it sucks cuz i think he really has skills

Bursak is a talented up-and-comer who is now ready to fight world-class opposition. He looked very good against the Ghanian Hammond in his last fight, completely dominating every minute and knocking him down in every round. He more clearly controlled his fight with Vera than Andy Lee did in his last fight with Vera. I'd bet my money on Bursak if he ever fought Lee.
