Dawson doesn't have to start out fast, I'm just inclined to believe that Ward will not figure him out right away, and will get outboxed by Dawson for a while, whether it's fast paced or not.

And then he will settle down, take advantage on the inside with holding and punching, with some boxing from the outside, and start taking rounds.
you say that like chad isn't a good counterpuncher....with his ability to counter, the moment wards rushes in with his head down, he eats a left uppercut...not to mention, there's no way ward can outmuscle chad...pascal's the only one who's troubled dawson(other than glen johnson, who chad only struggled with after he gassed out in the first fight), and he actually did it with athelticism....keeping out of range and exploding with rights from outside.....ward has nowhere near the power nor the explosiveness to do anything close to that....and chad is highly competent at everything...including inside fighting...

I agree Dawson is as skilled as ward IMO this is his fight to lose but I got a feeling chad would show up in this fight like he did vs Hopkins too bad we didn't get to see the rest of that fight

Dawson is a weak Light-Heavyweight himself. He started out at 160 and quietly moved up to 175, losing any power or strength advantage he had. And not to put much stock into ****** Mayweather Sr, but he said that Dawson is so weak that he can almost do more pullups and pushup's than him at the gym. < A little supportive evidence to consider. And everyone says that Ward is stronger than people think, including Froch, even though he has no power.

Either way, I didn't say that Ward will school him. Yes Dawson can counter punch, but Ward can also defend himself against counter punchers. It's the little subtle things that will make the difference in the fight. And those will come from Ward, the smarter fighter. It will be a close fight. 7-5 in favor of Ward imo. Not sure why you felt the need to challenge that as If I predicted a Boxing Lesson from Ward.

Did you see the Pascal fight? Dawson looked like **** in there, if Pascal could outbox Dawson then Ward would **** him.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see Dawson against B-Hop to see if Dawson had changed. Chad just seems mentally weak, he could've KO'd Pascal MULTIPLE times that fight but just did not throw anything for whatever reason.

Dawson at his best could probably wipe out the whole LHW and SMW with ease. Whenever Dawson actually threw at Pascal he hurt him (for whatever reason he stopped throwing), he was also pushing Pascal around the ring like it was nothing, P4P he's one of the strongest fighters in boxing and definitely the strongest at 175 and below.

And some others in here have pointed out the inconsistency and mental weakness of Dawson. I just connected the dots and compared him to Zab Judah, another talented fighter in his prime.

Hence why Floyd vs Zab was the perfect analogy. The little subtle things will make the difference. However, even with that analogy I wouldn't be arrogant enough to say with 100% certainty, that Dawson couldn't pull it off.

Everything you said is spot on. As I mentioned earlier, Dawson can be a mental scrub at times. BUT IF just 80% of Dawson shows up, Ward is going to be taken to school. Even Ward at 100% will struggle to make the fight close, but Ward always shows up fully ready.

Dawson is a complete package talent and athletic-wise, while Zab was fairly one dimensional. Both have their mental lapses, but I'd be damned if Dawson gets embarrassed as badly as Judah. Dawson's defense is too good, even when he fought Pascal he wasn't even hurt, he just didn't respond.

In any of my posts, did I say that he will get embarrassed?

I'm just predicting a 7 rounds to 5 (worst case 8rd's to 4) in favor of Ward. That's a clean 115-113 decision. Nothing embarrassing about it.

                    Why all the knee-jerk reactions?

Sorry for "challenging " you? ...

chad is weak? not...he is not a hard puncher, but his physical strength is up there with the top. He moved up a long time ago, he hung in the trenches with johnson, he backed up tarver, he backed up hopkins, he backed up diaconu.
I know Ward is strong, but he had trouble with the brute strength of sakio bika(unluckily for bikia, he couldnt capitalize properly because his punching technique is not tight enough),and his abilty to smother opponents has been complimented by fighting guys who can't fight inside(kessler, froch, green, miranda). In the Froch fight and the Bika fight you can clearly see many moments where Ward is too open to get hit because of the way he positions himself inside....their punching technique was just too sloppy to capitalize....Dawson will not have that problem...
