Why was Wlad vs Haye on normal HBO? Even with an exciting trash talker like Haye? Because Wlad is so boring when it comes to pre fight with his gentlemen like comments and"I do my talking in the ring". These guys, Ward, Dawson, Wlad, don't have style that will catch people's attetions, and their personalities don't catch any one's interest either. So they're never gonna be on PPV.

Hopkins talks a lot but also has a defensive style that people already learned about in past PPV's of his, so they don't buy his PPV's anymore.

Timothy Bradley on the otherhand is lucky as hell he's around the same weight class as the sports top two draws, but he is not a PPV or even a hometown draw.

So when you ask if a fighter is PPV worthy, you gotta be fair and ask yourself, how many fighters are actually PPV worthy.
Well, Wlad gets something like 50K + in his hometown and has other euro deals as far as TV goes. Ward could never get that sort of support from Jokeland.

Are we talking about PPV's or hometown crowds here, which one are we talking about?

How do you know Andre Ward can't sell 50k in the Raiders Stadium with a well promoted fight? He does good numbers in his hometown.

And I was taking you serious and actually giving well thought of answers and my honest opinions, but now that you referred to Oakland as "Jokeland" I can see you have an agenda here against Ward and you have no interest in talking a serious unbiased discussion.

There are a lot of little smaller PPV's like that when no other network will pick it up.

So yeah, that's it. Martinez, Donaire, Marquez, Gamboa, et al can't headline a PPV by themselves. Maybe Canelo could to a certain extent, but that's about it.

We are in a age where PPV is pretty much dead in boxing unless it's the super elite stars.

At the end of the day boxing is a business where a lot are only focused on fighters who bring in money-

SO would you buy his PPV? Or only a specific fight of his?

no way in hell. . . as talented as he is, there's jsut no way he is PPV worthy. . . he takes away the threat of any two way action by clinching up. . . hey, not hating, cause he knows only one style = W - I - N. . . MAYBE if he was matched against a guy like Kirkland. . . but even then the ass whipping would just be so one-sided. .

MAYBE if the refree warned him about clinching, and penalized him, then he would stop. . . and he would be forced to use his boxing skills of the back foot (which he definitely has). . . because IT IS against the RULES TO CLINCH!

by kirkland, i don't mean him specifically, but just a guy that is tough as hell, with the stamina of a bull, and a punch that could knock out any farm animal. . .

I agree. That fight against Kessler was one of the most questionable things I've seen in the last few years.

By having Mayweather vs. Pacquiao as on the undercard.
