Is Andre Ward PPV Worthy?

Sadly, he will never be a PPV star. He hasn't had an exciting fight YET with all that holdhitting and headgrinding he does. Stop that crap and he'd do 500K PPVs per fight.Comment

To me he's PPV worthy, but (sadly) I'm not sure how many casuals will fork up 60 bucks for a PPV.Comment

Ward could beat Bute, Hopkins, Cloud, and Dawson over the next 2 years and still not be a PPV attraction or a live gate attraction.
It's not always about winning, it's how you win that draws the people.Comment

I agree he's in the same class as Bernard. He's good as what he does but he doesn't have that star appeal.Comment

well he's already a live gate attraction in oakland; outside of oakland, though, he's not. there's essentially FOUR types of boxers: 1.) those who can't draw shyt even regionally and locally - guys like bradley, dawson; 2.) those who draw locally, but not on a national level or PPV level; guys like ward, alexander 3.) guys who draw nationally, and have potential to sell a few hundred thousand PPV's, and draw views within their country - guys like amir khan, canelo, chavez jr., 4.) international stars (the "icons") and have the ability to generate a million PPV buys, and views from all over the world - pacquiao and mayweather. . . the klitschko brothers to an extent (all over europe and central asia)
lucien bute, and tomaz adamek are somewhere in between 2 and 3. . . miguel cotto is somewhere in between 3 and 4. . .Comment

How many fans does Ward draw?
How many extra viewers turn in on Showtime to see Ward?
My guess is, not that many.Comment
