The numbers in attendance and viewing on TV were quite low. This is really unfortunate.

Ironically, Ward will now use his victories in this tournament to command a high price and who he wants, when he wants. Once again, the reality of economics and the perspectives of these fighters are disconnected.

Great to see that the @Carl_Froch and @SpecialKBrook show on Saturday smashed the @SkySports ratings and had highest viewing figures of 2011

I bet if HBO was running this tournament with 24/7 crew filming them those numbers would be through the roof.

Most fighters today don't realize it isn't enough sometimes to just be a good boxer, you have to sell yourself. You have to come to the table with not just a compelling personal story but a dazzling smile and something of a chip on your shoulder. When the cameras are on them fighters should be capitalizing on all that free press.

I'm just saying from my perspective it lost steam a while ago. There were delays and crying taking place throughout the duration of the tournament (which lasted nearly 3 years by the way) and by the time this fight was rolling around, it seemed almost as if it had to be carried by the commentators to give it significance.
