because not every fighter can make their body move up and down weight classes. half of the fighters on the ring magazine's p4p list are one division world titleholders. martinez at 37 years old is a relatively small middleweight, him going up and trying to step on the scales at 165+ would probably take away his ability to fight good while facing top guys at 168 who rehydrate probably another 5-15 lbs.

if he goes down to 150lbs then he's just another weight drained that pacquiao or floyd fought right? no win win situation for those little guys am i right?
yeah, i'm not saying i want to see the fight happen, i'm just saying martinez is capable of doing it. those two are p4p the best in the world and obviously bring in the biggest payday a fighter can get, i'm pretty sure if any fighter can find a way to make them be seen as possible opponents, they'd try and do that.
by the way isn't pirog on his division? why duckin?
you're a complete idiot. there's no ducking, pacquiao/arum avoiding mayweather, now that's a duck. dibella is the only talking shit about pirog and the only reason he is because while pirog is looking good against no names, his name doesn't carry any weight to further improving martinez' name, career, or bank account. he got a vacant title against an unproven jacobs on an american network, and has his then not done anything to make himself a big name or even a top dog in the division. proksa has faced sebastian slyvester and his name was known. matthew macklin gave sturm hell and his name was known. while pirog has a title, he hasn't done anything with it. hopefully he does fight on showtime or hbo in 2012 and build a name for himself and hopefully him and martinez can make a fairly big fight at MW happen since nothing like that is possible atm.

What a joke like Pirog has done anything other than beat 1 untested prospect like himself and 18 Russian turnip farmers.

Because most people claiming this don't know what the **** they're talking about. Just like the TS.

I'm gonna' give Sergio the benefit of the doubt and answer that he's trying to make sure his plush retirement is in the bag and that after he properly feathers his nest he'll start fighting guys nearer his size in both directions not just one.

He is a natural 154 yet he is so good to go to 160. 168 is pushing it and he deserves a paydat atleast. Plus Pac and floyd should not have a problem fighting in 154

Because those little guys fought at 154 or won a 154 title. If Pacquiao was willing to fight SLOW,Margarito at 154 well he should have no problem fighting Sergio. Mayweather neither
