I'm not seeing it. When I watch ward I think he has average hand speed or slightly above average hand speed. Dirrell, now he has fast hands.

if you're talking about this andre ward lovefest...i agree. totally. it's ridiculous. why is everyone such a huge fan now? it seems like not even 6 months ago everyone hated the guy for his mauling billy goat huggy-bear-ruiz style.

i didn't see this masterpiece virtuoso boxing performance that everyone else saw against froch. i saw the same ugly bull***** that's been going on since the edison miranda fight...maybe even before.

There is still a ton of hate for ward in this forum. He won some fans by winning the super six no doubt, anyone would have, but still a lot of people don't like him one bit.

          Prime Hopkins beats Ward clearly.

He had everything Ward has but he did it better.

I completely agree, it's really making me mad, and I happen to be one of the few that was a big Ward fan before Saturday. He is an athletic, skilful fighter, who I think is pretty special, but he still makes quite a few mistakes. Prime B-Hop does not make mistakes, completely different stratosphere of fighter. You are comparing an ATG who has been in and around the top of the p4p list for over a decade, with a fighter who has only just become universally recognised as one of the best p4p, ward has accomplished a lot so far in his career, but still has a long way to go.

The guy is a Ring and Unified champion and just won a big tournament slightly north of Hopkins' prime weight, I think the comparisons are justified. He's hardly a prospect

                This is true.

One factor testimony to that is the surprising increase in Bute fans over the past two nights, when he hasn't even been fighting. Half those newly acquired fans, I doubt even saw his last fight with Johnson.

He himself, and his trainer admit he's not at his peak, and there's still more yet to come.

what would you consider to be prime hopkins? to be honest, i've never seen anything before the trinidad fight...except for some highlights of the roy jones fight.

                    any fights you recommend?

To the poster above. Hopkins versus Glen Johnson = masterful performance
