Its easy to look good against B-level competition. Froch had a similar resume earlier in his career and knocked those same level guys too. Ward has a style that's a nightmare for most boxers. Sure Bute has size, speed and power....but i think that would play into the hands of a counter puncher like Ward.

Andre Dirrell(once his rust is gone) I feel is the only guy who could actually defeat Ward.

Bute is the way,way,way bigger draw, he sells out arena's 20K + seats everytime. Why would he go to oakland, when montreal is a way better city and he sells out everytime.

This is a way of ducking the fight by Wards team. Im glad Bute said he would go to Oakland and make the fight, watch how Wards team will say Bute priced himself out or something to that extent.

He beats Sakio Bika and it's not impressive 'cause Bika is "B-Level" but when Ward beats Bika in a hard fought fight, it was a good display of toughness against a very resilient opponent.

Glen Johnson enters the tournament and everyone says he belongs in there with the Super Six and he proved it by knocking out Allan Green and losing a very close fight to Froch. He gets dominated by Bute and he's just an old bum.

Looking back Bika has been Ward's toughest opponent to date.

If Goossen is right and Ward can draw that kind of # then I am all for it being in Oakland but until I see it I think this fight needs to be in Canada

This is a very good post. The only problem is that Ward just won the super six tourney IMO that makes him the number one guy at smw. That being said he has no drawing power and the only place that bute can draw is in his hometown in Canada. So why should thechamp have to bend over to the challenger when take Canada out of the equation and neither fighter can draw maggots to rotting food.
