How can you say Bute would beat ward? Bute was Ko'd by andrade who kessler battered years and years ago. The best guy bute has beaten is Glen johnson who seems to loose every single fight now days.

I'd fancy ward by a very very wide UD. Bute hasnt faced half as good competion and was ko by a top 10 at best.

Its easy to look good against B-level competition. Froch had a similar resume earlier in his career and knocked those same level guys too. Ward has a style that's a nightmare for most boxers. Sure Bute has size, speed and power....but i think that would play into the hands of a counter puncher like Ward.

Andre Dirrell(once his rust is gone) I feel is the only guy who could actually defeat Ward.

I definitely know I'm in the minority. . . But I just feel like the style-mesh would favor Bute. That fight seems like forever ago, even though it was just 2-3 years ago. . .

I just feel like Bute could hold the center of the ring, and dictate range and pace. . . Ward kinda has that awkward Hopkins thing going on, where he is able to position his body at the perfect angles, and pick his shots off perfectly. . . Not to mention he is very sharp, accurate, and fast. . .

But I don't think he would be able to get away with trying to jump inside on Bute, and enable his game and his pace like he has been able to do to all these guys who are drastically slower than he is. . . Ward would not have a speed advantage. . . And on the outside I think Bute's jab finds home first. . . His timing is impeccable, on par with Ward. . The power in Bute's favor is quite drastic. . . I tihnk it would be a chess match, with two coiled vipers doing more "anticipating strikes", than actual striking. . .

There was 5000 fans for Froch-Ward. In Montreal Bute-Ward would fill the Molson Centre around 22000 fans.

If Ward wants to claim to be #1 , he as no choice to fight Bute.
And would not be a walk in the park for Ward.
