That referee was actually following the rules more than Jack Reiss in Kessler-Ward - Andrade should have gone to the corner. However, the rulebook says if a fight has to be stopped because of a deliberate headbutt, it's a DQ loss for the fighter that did it.

Hm, I wouldnt say he's boring or not fan friendly.

I convinced someone at a party tonight to put on the boxing match, and everyone was pretty involved, in awe of how good Ward was. Honestly his reaction time is amazing and his jab is nice...

I dont think he will lose for a long time and as we've seen in the past, people love winners. He is effective in the clinch and fights dirty only up to what he can get away with kind of like bernard hopkins

but his boxing ability is undeniable. even girls and people who werent very boxing savy were impressed with his skill. I think if he has a good run and beats some good fighters, he will become more popular

There's nothing boring about winning. He kind of reminds me of Hopkins and a little of a prime Ricky Hatton. He's not just beating peple he's bulling them around the ring. His style is so hard to beat because he doesn't let his opponent do ANYTHING, as soon as Froch tried to get his shots off Ward just tied him up and bullied him around the ring. Don't get me wrong I doubt I'd pay to watch many of his fights, and the thought of him fighting Hopkins does make me a little drowzy but as boxing fan I can't help but admire his ability to get his opponent into his kind of fight, I don't actually think he's as fast as he's being made out to be its just he always seems one step ahead of his opponent, his ring IQ is as good as anyone in the sport. The real test for Ward will be when he moves up in weight, and he's fighting guys who are as strong as he is and he can't bully like he can at 168.

Ward has ZERO KOs in his past 6 fights. Miranda was KOed by Bute, and Green was stopped by Johnson.
Wlad is also not fighting guys on the same skill level as Carl Froch and Arthur Abraham and he also has a huge size advantage. Maybe the reason why he has to be safety first is the guys he fights are some of the best in the world and the guys Wlad fights are the bums of the month. Heavyweight division is clearly not the SMW division.

Its just, lets be honest, this guy has ZERO punching power. Ward's entire game is 12round, holding, clinching, potshotting, and dirty infighting.

              Thats this guy's whole style.

Any1 else find Ward's style to be very boring, and unentertaining?

Like Ward will never be popular because his fights are not fun. He is hands down the most boring fighter in boxing.

Even Mayweather's fights are more entertaining than Wards.
I should find it boring but strangely I don't. He's just so versatile and varied and even when he's clinching he's working, working. Definitely not the most boring fighter in boxing. I can think of many fighters whose fights are more sleep inducing than Ward's due to their lack of versatility in what they do.

And of course he doesn't have ZERO punching power. He punches hard enough to get respect and get an effect out of his opponents. If he didn't they'd be running all over him.

Mayweather isn't really boring either. He's just an arse.

Disagree entirely. Was he running and potshotting in the Froch fight? No, he was pressing forward landing shots and bossing Froch around. He was also trying to go for the knockout, but he just didn't have enough and Froch was too tough to do it. But he was putting himself into Froch's danger zone time and again, most likely knowing he wouldn't be able to knock Froch out with one punch. Does that sound like safety first to you?

Tunney would much rather Ward just go in all wild and get kayoed himself. Problem is Ward is a smart fighter and that is what makes him one of the best. Tunney is just a hater, especially when it comes to Andre Ward. He will never like him, he will always knock him.

Honestly I find Wlad more boring than Ward for the fact that every fight of his more or less looks the same. With Ward you know you're going to get something different every fight. It might not look pretty but you know it's going to be masterful and effective. Knockouts aren't the be all and end all of boxing, and quite a few of Wlad's recent "knockouts" over the past few years were TKO's where the corner or the referee pulled them out of there late into the fight, not clean KOs. I just can't get excited over that.
